Ok...just to make sure everyone will still get the big numbers....The National Weather Service just upped the numbers....here is their new forecast: Accumulations: http://i64.tinypic.com/1552lj9.png
K...radar showing you are about to get into the real heavy stuff soon...if not already. REMEMBER GUYS AND GIRLS...the short term models have the heaviest precip still between 1 and 5 or 6...its coming.
I had to go out a while catching up,,,what did I miss lol. Btw temp is 33 here snowing harder NOW and it literally just started sticking to the street 10 minutes ago,,,,,,,,,,good info Jay keep em coming,,,,,,,,,,my cousin in NYC says its puking snow can anyone verify ? let the games begin
It started snowing hard in Greenwich Village about 45 minutes ago, but so far not a flake is sticking to the roads or sidewalks.
@jaywayne12 Madison is getting a heavy doze of snow as of now. Roads are fully covered. This is very very intense snow.
We all do..cant tell you how many times in the old days when we tracked storms I would be like "damn it! Its not going to happen!!" and would post it. What I learned a few years ago is to wait 2 hours before I THINK its time to give up. Now...where the real pros get it wrong is they will stick to their position regardless of whats happening outside. Even the amateur pros on accuweather. Some of these guys..I mean they are brilliant. Still, when you are more worried about being right then what you are seeing, you cant last long at it. Weather is all about being able to say "I really F$%#ed that one up".
jonnyd....nope...as if another real storm potential. 3" of an hour is going to happen..its happening now in central NJ. 2" and hour is about to engulf all of NNJ and NYC. I miss you my friend...you always cracked me up.
and it will get worse and stay that way for another 5 or 6 hours. I believe it will come down so hard by you that sometime around 5 or 6pm..if not earlier....you will have over a foot sir.
and the radar below shows that almost the entire state of NJ is getting over an inch an hour. Now some of this along immediate southern coast may be mix or rain. Not sure...but expect accumulation numbers to explode starting now. RADAR: https://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?product=NCR&rid=DIX&loop=yes Taking a closer look at the radar...would say half the state is approaching 2" an hour.
Just checked short term models...and the only saving grace is this: Believe the numbers predicted will be hit..but it will happen so fast..in such a short time frame, that the predictions for this to come to an end early Thursday morning will not happen...really believe the worst of this and almost all of it is over by 8pm to 10pm from southwest to northeast. Pretty sure about that now.
