It's pretty bad, but believe it or not...it's gotten better nationally. Clearinghouse has been getting cleaned up the past 10 years+

I coached 2 kids that ran 4.3/40 out of high school, one was the best player I've ever seen put on pads. Sadly, he was in a gang, barely passed the NCAA clearinghouse and every 1A program balked at him (even USF which was right down the street). He ended up going to GA Southern and lasted exactly 6 games before getting kicked off the team. The other guy couldn't pass the clearinghouse, ended up at a prep school and dropped out because school was too hard.

For every 1 player that makes it on a JUCO for a second chance, there are 10 just like them that can't find anything. In the 90's, if you could spell your name....shit...if you could make a mark on a piece of paper, you were admitted.

So it just shows you just how talented Robbie Anderson is, he's just a total nimrod.

I have no problem believing that he is uneducated, but the problem is that he spent four years at Temple University, so if he's uneducated it's completely his own choice. Of course it's an excellent question how he managed to stay eligible as much as he did (for two years), but I'm still going to go with stupidity being the possible problem, not a lack of education, with the latter being more an effect than a cause.

Give the guy a break. He's done pretty well on the playing field even though he's splitting his training time with his ESL classes.

I think the best thing for Robby will be a 4 game suspension. Maybe that will be the wake up call he needs. So far he hasn't felt the consequences of his actions....This may set him straight. It's either keep going on being a troubled kid on the suspension list or grow up & play football.

He might end up with 2 games suspension for first offense last May
+ 4 games for his second offence. 6 games total.

This stuff kills me when I see players that have the world by the balls and they blow
Their chance , AKA Ray Rice. They work their whole life to get to the nfl and in one
Dumb action they let it all slip away.

He's been arrested twice now in less than a year, both times involving getting physical with authority figures. He needs to get his act together but I'd be surprised if he doesn't get suspended.

That tweet was so weird that I half-wondered whether he was trying to use it to set up an insanity defense for the Florida charges. It's incoherent, but maybe that's just him.

  9. He may have a drug problem with the borderline incoherent verbalizations. PCP,Synthetic weed, Meth....somethin along those lines..

Either trade him straight up for M Bryant in a "my problem for your problem" scenario or see if we can get a conditional 3rd/4th for him.

If he keeps on going the way he is, I won't be surprised if he winds up in prison or shot dead by police.

    Pros

Dirt cheap contract -cap hit 633k
Plays above his contract (941 yards + 7tds)
    Deep threat
    Not currently suspended

    Cons
    Likely suspension
    Full of himself
    Another arrest waiting to happen.

In all Likley were probably looking at the pros and at this stage of the off season it doesn't matter that he's on our team. Anderson will not get another contract from this team. We will use him until he's a URFA and let him go.

We may end up cutting him once we replace his production either via Free agency or the draft/ rookie minicamp. But not before. If Anderson wasn't such a douche then kearse might of been cut but his behaviour has put him on the cusp.

Question for Anderson is: why should any team pay you? Two stupid arrests in 12 months.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's out the league in 3 years including his suspension which will be coming for him. Shame kid has wheels for legs.

Do you think a guy like Anderson has an effect on the quest for free agents?

He's obviously a mess and there doesn't seem to be any reason to think he'll clean up his act. The Jets have taken a very passive stance. Let the legal process play out etc. By keeping him and not cutting him quickly, do they reinforce all the negative stereotypes of the circus, an organization that can't get out of its own way, a piss-poor culture etc?

Look at a FA like Cousins. He's a solid citizen and has many options. When he's considering those options, does he think who wants to play for a an organization with limited talent, not exactly an exemplary track record for winning and that keeps guys like Anderson around? I know money is king, but I really wonder if stuff like this hurts the Jets in pursuing first-tier FAs.

I hate to say it but there's gotta be a big share of college athletes that don't care about going to college for the education and only care about the sport aspect. Robby sounds incredibly uneducated and being at temple was merely an opportunity for him to play ball, rather than actually learn anything.

Which obviously is his own doing and his own problem. He is hurting himself

The root of the problem with Anderson is his family upbringing. If he doesn't receive the guidance and support along with some 'scolding' from his immediate kin, then it's a far gone conclusion what will happen to him. It's all about how he was raised. I don't know who his parents are but it does not appear they are close knit.

When looking at Robby, he truly is a case of "do the pros outweigh the cons?".

He's a very solid receiver, providing speed/burner status the Jets have lacked at the position for years. But then there is EVERYTHING off field...

The NFL has quite a few players who are not exactly "model citizens". Ultimately, if you can play in the NFL, have a ton of talent and are still affordable, you'll be kept around. Jets don't want to cut Robby, have him go to another team, clean up his act and become a pro-bowler.

They're going to be patient and let the legal process take its course. He may even be suspended by the NFL.

IMO Macc and Bowles are going to operate the offseason as if they can no longer rely on Robby. If the Jets sign Robinson, Kirk Cousins would be salivating to throw to a guy like that

You're probably right that that is how the Jets will play it, but I think that if they're really serious of building a new culture on the team that they need to be very clear that this type of behavior is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

They need to get in his face, tell him firmly that this type of off-field behavior is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. They should follow that up with telling him that they will support him as long as he agrees to get some counseling, and stays out of trouble, but if he screws up one more time, he's gone.

They should then tell the team that for now, they have his back, but if he gets in trouble again, he's gone, and that going forward they will have a one-strike policy (or zero tolerance, depending upon what they want or think they can realistically achieve) for all their players. They should make it clear that they will have their players' backs and do everything they can to help them if they have "issues" or problems, but that they had better not be drinking and driving, abusing their wives/girlfriends, doing illegal drugs, driving like maniacs, or getting into any kind of trouble with the law. They should tell the players in no uncertain terms that while they don't have to be "choir boys," they are professionals and whether they like it or not, are role models for younger kids, and that as long as they play for the Jets, they will be expected to live to a certain high standard. Then tell the players that if any of them don't think they can live up to that standard to let them know now, and they will do their best to trade them to another team; otherwise, they will be released.

At the rate he is going, I think it more than likely that he'll wind up in jail or dead within 3 years. IMO that would be more tragic than his not being able to play football. I hope he can get his life turned around before it's too late.

I'll never for the life of me understand why athletes belong to social media. Shut up. Just shut up. I have never and will never belong to social media of any kind. I'm the only world wide hold out, and damn proud of it. That aside, what I am "allowed" to read on a limited basis, even though I don't "belong", what the hell. I am embarrassed for these idiots. Remember when Shaquille O'Neal made fun of that teenager who idolized him? The poor bastard had a psychical deformity, and he made fun of him. You heard me right. Some rappers that I never heard of joined in. What a dirtbag. He should've paid to have that poor kid's teeth fixed after being such a mean POS. Shaquille apologized. No longer and will never again care about Shaquille O'Neal.

I wish these idiots would stop looking at themselves in the mirror and read a book. I just don't get that whole look at me Facebook everything else thing. If you're gonna write stuff on social media, minus typos (which I'll always be the Queen of), please at least try to sound functionally literate.

Robby Anderson is setting himself up to NOT have a career after football. Hell, I went to art school, so I'm talking out of my butt, but what were his courses and his GPA? LOL.

Robby Anderson isn't doing himself any favors communicating like that. He needs to close all his social networking accounts and focus on bettering himself. Someone needs to mentor him.
