He wouldn't be surprised if Nelson goes to the Jets he is a top #5 pick regardless of what anybidy says. Barkley is a top 3 pick an as much as he loves the Jets there is no way he will be available at #6.
The problem is that I think Elway would take Mayfield at #5 in a NY minute if Rosen or Darnold aren't still available, and maybe even if one of them is still available.
If Rosen is there, which I doubt, Elway will take him... who knows, maybe Denver trades up w/Indy & takes Rosen there...wishful thinking
If you want Mayfield, I think biggest competition will be from the Browns. He'd fit in well there, and I think they may just take him #1 overall, or gamble that he's there at #4. The Broncos a good fit for Allen #5, and the Giants Darnold at #2. I just hope we don't take Rosen, I can see him falling. Hopefully the Browns take him off the board...
I see Darnold going to the Browns @ #1... Barkely to the Jints. @ 2.. from there on it's a crapshoot... hopefully Mayfield falls to 6... even more wishful is that our GM drafts him... which, going by his record is a big unknown. :/
Rumour has it that the Browns will move up to #2 and take Barkley and Darnold 1 - 2. It would be bold but maybe bold is what they need. Indy may trade back or take Chubb at 3 Giants take Nelson at 4 Denver take Allen/Rosen/Mayfield - I think they’d take Rosen Jets take Allen/Rosen/Mayfield - We will be left with a decision on Allen or Mayfield and I believe that’s a tough decision. I’d take Allen but I can understand the Mayfield argument too.
it's possible they'd take Darnold. I just think Darnold needs to sit a year, and Cleveland is not in a position to do that. They need a guy who can play right away, and Dorsey has allegedly said 'stay away' regarding Rosen, and Rosen has also suggested he doesn't want Cleveland. I think Mayfield has the right attitude and moxy to step into Cleveland and start right away. He'd be a good fit.
Good analysis. Feel Allen is a strong possibility for the Giants. We could be looking at Darnold / Rosen.
I don't see that for Cleveland... I think the Manziel experiment with that type of cockiness may push them away... not saying that Mayfield is like Manziel but those type of situations have ways of feeding off each other.... I see Cleveland staying away from Mayfield.
man, browns taking the bullet for us and removing mayfield from the equation would make the draft an easier watch.
You know he ran a 4.66 40 at 270 lb right? He will be a top 10 pick 100 % I’d say top 5 but their could be a lot of trades in the top 6
If we don't sign Cousins, anyone other than a QB at 6 would be a mistake and will likely mean Macc and Bowles are gone at seasons end. They cannot skirt the line anymore and hope to ride the feel good stories of journeymen QB's having a good year and winning some games. Jets have 90+ mil in cap space and 3 picks in the top 50. If you're not drastically improved given the circumstances, no way you can survive. This is put up or shut up time for Bowles and Macc
