Vick's arm was way stronger. No contest. Flick of that left wrist and he could zing it 50 yards downfield.
Well that's an immediate red flag. So he will start with a promising career and get injured multiple times then never be the same.
Well they already traded their 5th round pick so I guess they would have to trade down in the 6th round, maybe pick him up with around pick #175? Maybe pick up an extra 7th rounder.
I really don''t understand your response... what 5th rd pick & who is they??? also Lauletta Will be gone in the 2nd rd.
Well you are on a NY Jets site and you said "I'd rather trade down", so unless you were personally trading down, I would assume you were referencing the Jets. This would tell you that when I say "they", I am also referencing the Jets. This would also pertain to the "they" in talking about the 5th round pick although I forgot "they" picked up the Cowboys 5th round pick so "they" still have one even though "they" traded "theirs" away. I may have been hyperbolic when saying 6th round but there is more chance Lauletta goes late 4th or later than in round 2. He will be an interception machine in the pros if he even gets a chance to play. One game does not move him from a day 3 pick/UDFA to round 2. And admit it, at the Senior Bowl was the first time you ever heard his name.
as Waterboy indicated, you probably just watched his Senior Bowl game, but he's not going in the 2nd round unless a team is doing a massive reach.
Jackson not getting hyped is the most bizarre part of this draft season to me. The guy breaks games. Why is the ability to run seen as a negative instead of as an added tool? It’s not like he depends on it.
The biggest concern I have with Jackson is that I don't think the Jets would/could use him properly. If we had a an offensive-minded, creative CS, he has the potential to bring a new dimension to the game, but unfortunately we have Bowles & Co., the dinosaurs of the NFL.
because some QBs espcially coming out of college depend on it. jackson isn't one of those. A run first QB with a questionable arm (think terelle pryor or brad smith) is a no go. But jackson isn't that he's a pocket passer with game breaking ability to run the ball.
Been watching some video of him recently. I still think Mayfield is the best of the lot, but I wouldn't mind a bit if Jackson was the Jets pick somewhere along the line. The bottom line is that sports is entertainment and this guy would be an incredibly exciting player to watch. Other than winning consistently, having a chance to see a player like this is another way to put fannies in the stadium seats. One asset that is needed by an NFL QB is the ability to extend plays and Jackson is undoubtedly the most gifted mobile runner of any of them, and I was surprised to see he has a quick release, fluid, almost effortless, throwing motion.
