Not really. There is still a vocal minority of Lions fans who hate Stafford and will always hate Stafford.

Usually, these are the guys infatuated with the AAV and think the QB is supposed to "elevate" poor FO decisions, poor talent acquisition, poor coaching, etc.

It definitely is pretty telling. The lions didn't let Stafford walk. Thats a big difference.

Another reason Redskins fans didn't want cousins..... because he didn't want them...cuz he wanted to leave and they knew it.

    added another good point

but for the price they have to pay , would rather take my chances on Bridgewater.

Probably has nothing to do with the fact they can't afford him

They can afford him, they just chose to not go in that direction. This has been something that has been building for years. Price has never been anything that Snyder couldn't figure out.

If the Jets sign Cousins, I will root for him. I just feel that we'd be better off filling as many holes in free agency and trading up for the best QB we can get. Something tells me that Kirk won't take us to a Lombardi Trophy. Maybe I'm wrong and if I am, I'll gladly eat crow.

I love all the "trade up for so-and-so" talk as if it's that easy. People need to stop playing the draft game and come back to reality and the reality of the situation is bleak .The jets played themselves out of a top 2 pick and could be potentially looking at the 4th best qb on the board when they draft.

You do realize that trading up for our QB limits our ability to fill other holes in the draft while getting Cousins still leaves us with a ton of cap space for other free agents.

Well odds are you are right because Jets history says so but Cousins increases those odds over an unknown rookie, not lowers them.

I live in DC and that's not what I'm hearing. The only ones they want gone are Snyder and Allen.

The only thing that tells us is that he is just like every other QB that isn’t elite.

The Redskins have overpaid for talent many times over the years. They probably lead the NFL in bad huge money signings in the last fifteen years.

That they have never been willing to give Kirk Cousins a top of the market contract is really telling. Dan Snyder happily throws top of the market money at very good players as if they were stars and is then disappointed after the fact. The fact that the Redskins apparently did not seriously consider doing this with Cousins tell us that their internal evaluation of him is that he is a good player and no more than that.

If the Jets want to give him a great QB contract and he's only a good player we're going to really suffer for that decision down the road.

Redskins fans exist outside DC, but being from DC I've talked to a lot more Redskins fans than you have. There's always a couple contrarians but the overwhelming sentiment is they're upset Cousins is leaving.

why? if mac drafts well, where will we suffer? who else has to get big money right now? what free agent could we miss out on that will be more valuable than securing a good qb? who won't we be able to retain right now, next year, 2 years from now?

I dont think youve talked to more than i have thats a bold statement to make. Did you think i talked to a couple of guys on the street? No ive engaged people from all over and the majority are glad hes gone, they cited his lack of prime time success as their major reason consistently. They dont think hes bad, they just dont see any playoff success with him for his price is what ive heard over and over.
