He'll have McCown as the QB coach hopefully.

I watched him tear Oklahoma a new one in the Playoff Semifinal. He is quick as shit. I personally like him better than Chubb who is higher rated.

Even though Chubb is bigger, I've read that Michel is a better pass blocker.

Yep just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. All these guys will be coaching scared this year because they know the end game. Will be hard to polish up that old resume.

Sounds like a great fit for Baker Mayfield as he has that fiery vibe as well... Bates might like the kid.

One thing I do find intriguing is Bates is only 41, still very young in terms of coaches. Obviously an optimistic outlook here - but i'm happy the days of bringing in dinosaurs such as Morningwhig, Sparano and Gailey has passed.

I'm hoping Bates continues the to infuse more of a shotgun based quick trigger offense. This team is going to work best with it's current weapons using the run and quick routes (slants, crossers, 3 steps let it rip from the qb) to set up play action and deep plays to Robby as well as the middle/deep center of the field options of Quincy (deep digs. finding open windows) & ASJ (seams, if he comes back). At times it's an infuriating system, but with the lack of true weapons, i'm hoping to just see a fast pace system.

    2 Alphas? Scary thought.

If the Jets like Bates as much as it's been said maybe just maybe if Todd Bowles is shown the door after this season we might have a young offensive minded coach next year in Bates. What a revelation.

    I kinda agree with this:

I dunno that you can have two extreme alphas at OC and QB. That's a bad combo. That being said, I'd be more than willing to try because if they clicked, woo boy, they'd be nonstop entertainment (and probably pretty damn good too).

I actually think a guy like Bates could light a fire under a guy like Cousins ass. Very reserved, safe, close to the vest... which isn't a bad thing at all. I just think there's another level to Cousins game that has yet to be unlocked because of a certain comfort level he's had throughout his career.
