I don't fear McDaniels one bit. McVay and Pederson have proven to be far better coaches than McDaniels has ever been.
Sure you do, otherwise you wouldn't care that he came back to the Pats, fact is that nothing scares Jet fans more than the thought that the Pats dominance over them could go on past B.B. and Brady.
Right, and you must be scared that the Pats run of dominance is coming to the end with Brady over 40 and Belichick getting closer to retirement.
What fan wouldn't be after this run, and the reality is we will never see this level of success again, not just Pats fan, but anyone. However those Jet fans that want to believe the Pats will just crawl into a hole and slink to the bottom of the division for a decade are in for shock. The Krafts aren't going away when B.B. and Brady hang them up, and if you think ownership doesn't matter, just take a look at your own organization and you'll see just how much it does.
Except Jets don’t fear that at all. For that to happen not only would McDaniel’s have to be as brilliant a coach as Belichick but they’d also have to luck into another all time great QB to replace Brady. Yeah, that sounds like something to reasonably fear.
Not really, a good to very good coach, and good to very good QB behind a well run organization can have a lot of success in this league. No one is saying or believing the Patriots will ever be as good as they have been under Brady and B.B. No organization ever will, but on the other hand the Patriots won't become the Jets.
The organization, outside the coaching and play of Bellichick and Brady, are clearly of such expertise that between Parcells and Belichick the organization was able maintain the same success. Oh, wait, they didn’t. Like I said, desperate delusion.
WTF has Kraft done other than sign Belichick, (away from another team at that)?... The P*ts are not a well run organization by any means. Kraft is not a football guy any more than Woody Johnson is. They have Belichick, and that is the only thing making that organization hum. He's been doing everything there for some time. When he leaves, they will be left with a culture of condoning cheating, but without any idea on how to execute. The P*ts will return to being a less than mediocre organization, and the 'fans' will slink back under their rocks. I expect Kraft will throw a lot of money around chasing past success, which will of course fail as hard as Dan Snyder's attempts. Enjoy the ride. Belichick needs 50 or so more wins for the HC record. Him chasing that record is your only hope for the near future.
Might the difference be that Kraft knows he's not a football guy and lets Belichick make all the football decisions without interference? Plus, you'd never see Kraft caught dead in that dorky baseball cap that Woody always wears.
Who's decision was it to trade Jimmy G? not Belichick's..... and btw, Woody isn't interfering with shite. He's not even in the country.
Who's idea was Revis II? The command structure (Bowles and Maccagnan being co-equals who both report to the owner) means that the owner has to resolve any disputes between Bowles and Maccagnan. In my opinion, that's way too much involvement for an owner. The Jimmy G. trade is still a complete mystery. Maybe it was based on orders from Kraft, maybe not.
Two wini Actually no one said "same success" but lets see, we had two wining seasons with playoff appearances and followed by a 500 season. When exactly was the Jets last Playoff appearance, for that matter when was the Jets last 500 season?
I believe Mac signed off on Revis, as it did make sense to bolster our secondary while prying him away from NE. Remember NE was pushing hard to re-sign him at big $ also. But you choose to believe that was all Woody, yet Jimmy G was a mystery? gtfo Br*dy will be 41 this year, and Belichick knew what he had in JG. Trading him was a weak organizational move, and Belichick always makes decisions for the long view. There is absolutely nothing wrong with our organizational structure either. Look around the league and you'll see many successful teams set up the same way. There is no reason to give a GM with an accounting or scouting background, full control of the entire organization including what players to start. There needs to be a balance.
stupidity is thinking Kraft is a football guy u ignorant chowda face! What could possibly be your reasoning to think the P*ts won't return to the basement once BB is gone? They will be looking up at the Bills.
We’re not talking about the Jets, we are talking about your idea of the Pats organizational expertise and how it will lead to continued success post Brady/Belichick. Pathetic attempt at a deflection. So a Super Bowl team declining to only a playoff team then a .500 season is your idea of continued and maintained success and representative of the organizational expertise. Glad to know you truly aren’t so fucking stupid to think they will be Super Bowl contenders and are admitting you find .500 seasons and 1 and done playoffs as the standard for success. Sorry, Jets fans will be quite content with your lowered expectations; we certainly don’t fear it.
1. Don't forget Woody tampered with Revis before Revis II. That tells me where that idea came from. 2. Another theory is that Belichick intends to retire in the next few years, and he knew it would cost a lot to keep Garoppolo. He'd rather spend that money elsewhere on his roster, and ride Brady off into the sunset. Will Belichick think long term if he doesn't expect to be there for the long term? 3. The Jets organization structure would be better if Bowles and Maccagnan reported to a football guy, not a silver-spoon trust-fund kid. I know this idea has been beaten to death, but the structure would make more sense if there was a football guy (VP of Football Operations) between Woody and Bowles/Maccagnan.
I'll agree with point 3. I like the organizational structure the way it is, but would prefer that VP of Football between the Owner and the GM/Coach. Someone to make strategic decisions, and hold the GM and HC individually accountable. Back to the Pats, who does Kraft have like that? He's nothing more than Woody with an alcohol problem and penchant for looking the other way. The are in for one bumpy ride once BB leaves.
I agree 100% that the Pats are in for a big fall when Belichick leaves, but I have to give the devil his due. Kraft seemed to leave Belichick alone. Sometimes, the best owner is the one who does what he does best: write checks.
