Bree’s is going to sign a team friendly deal with the Saints. The guy is practically the mayor in New Orleans. Let’s find our own Brees.
And the Jets can STILL sign 3 high quality players to start alongside Cousins. Even if they were to give Cousins $40 million in Year 1, they will still have $50-60 million in cap room. Who is to say they can't use that to bring in valuable, impactfull starters? This notion that signing Cousins hurts our cap situation or limits the organization from signing other free agents is asinine.
If Jets can offer Bree about 27.5 millions/year. Bree will be happy about moneys?! Just do it. Bree can leaving the Saints. Bree is worth more than Cousins. Anyway. We should trade up to Cleveland for grab by Darnold. Or stay #6 pick for Allen or Mayfield.
Yes, Jets need a QB if they can offer him about 27 millions/years. I am sure that Bree is looking for more moneys and sign to Jets for moneys. Just do it. If Bree want to stay in Saints. We should trade up to Cleveland for grab with Darnold or #6 pick for Allen or Mayfield
Yeah for this season we can do that but how can paying Cousins the most ever NOT hinder us in years to come? No matter which way you slice it, he’s going to take up a huge part of the salary cap for however long we’re paying him...what happens when we need to extend Marcus Maye and Jamal Adams and also need to fill other holes in a few seasons? Look I get that there are ways to be creative with the cap but paying your QB that much will have ramifications one way or another...tough decisions will need to be made eventually If you hit on a rookie QB you have that much more flexibility
This isn't true, unless you're just considering "years to come" the next three years. Again, look at the Jimmy G contract and really most QB contracts. Most of them include an out for the team after a few years. You'd assume we'd give Cousins the same type of deal.
Sure you can get creative with the terms and if we sign Cousins I hope Macc makes it work...but any way you slice it you’re still paying a QB a ton of money that could be used elsewhere My only point is paying a rookie QB basically peanuts compared to the Cousins contract can have some huge advantages, don’t really see how that’s debatable ...of course if his play isn’t near or better than Cousins’ play then it wouldn’t be worth it
If we have to hand out a big money after this year we are screwed anyway. No one on the current roster is going to need to get paid for the next 3 years . This is very doable and an opportunity that comes very rarely
I like Cousins as a QB and would be excited if we signed him...I actually think we will to be honest I’m just looking at the other side too...There’s a great crop of rookie QBs and we will have a shot between atleast 2 of them if not more. Both options are intriguing to me honestly it’s a tough call the more I think about it
There are some qbs I like in the draft as well and if the draft came first I probably wouldn’t be calling for cousins right now. But the way it works now, cousins is the first good option and I think it has to be explored. If it doesn’t work out you will see me switch gears and start championing a qb in this draft
I was from France and moved here about since for 15 years. I was became Jets fans. I love watch the Football games. I would love get Bree sign for us. I believe Bree will help us for the wins games and playoff.
Something to remember. If we draft a QB, we have a 4 year window to win with with cheap QB play. After that, if the drafted QB is any good, we'll have to pay him more than Cousins
i dont look at it as an either or. sign cousins and draft a qb in the second or third ... the rash of qb injuries as of late.has shown that you need two competent options at the position if mac is really about that bpa life, he should be thinking similarly
Absolutely If we sign Cousins it makes sense to draft a QB in the middle rounds....always good to have a new QB with potential on the roster regardless
