I guess I spoke to soon maybe I reversed the HEX!!!!!! Saturday / Sunday = thoughts ? I hate that this is so many days away,,,,hard to get too excited when most systems have trended North n West as they have gotten closer this year,,,,,but IT IS THERE!!
GFS says South n rain,,,,,BUT others say not so fast. Tough setup no ? definitely need things to break right,,,,but still there
00z 12k nam very bullish on this, bernie on board too. saturday night to sunday morning, seeing 4-8 for some
and a real quick hitter too. Models agree on time of storm...which looks to come in around 8pm and be over by 4am Sunday morning. Interesting storm. NAM seems to be a bit over the top with numbers...but other models swinging this way...west of turnpike looks like warning criteria (6+) but because of a real quick hit...cant see squeezing much more than that. Hard and fast. Mixing issues possible east of I95 will hold down numbers.
Jay. Weather Channel and Accuweather says 3 to 6 inches for Madison. Based on what you write this seems like a fair estimate no?
What are we looking at for Fair Lawn, NJ(Bergen County)? Just glad this is a Sat/Sun event so I don't have to travel to Ramsey NJ for work. Also will this be the heavy wet stuff or the light fluffy stuff? I do see temps predicted for the 50's and 60's next week so I guess the snow won't be around that long.
It’s going to be wet and heavy. I’m thinking 3” range for most of Jersey. And yea, it won’t last long. I call this god snow. He put it there he will get rid of it. I ain’t shoveling
Would tend to go to the higher side. Again...less then 8 hour storm. So, you get in the 5 to 7 or 8 range...I would be staying up to watch this one. Pretty intense considering the duration. Would only lean to the higher side because of the way models have gone to the NAM. When NAM goes high and most others are lower..it usually works opposite. NAM has been consistent and others have taken baby increases...think it hits warning criteria for many east of I95 6+ but not much more. Again...the duration..maybe 8 hours tops...pretty cool.
EDIT: Just checked late morning/early afternoon models..they seem to have gone down an inch or two. Still think Winter Storm warnings will be issued because of the possibility of 6".
3-6in here on tap for Sat/Sun.. Warm up next week. I'll just lay down salt and let Mother Nature do the heavy lifting.
