A lot changes from year to year in the NFL. Teams can go from worst to first from one season to the next. Will that happen to the Jets? Probably not, but if they draft well and if Bowles improves as a coach, the Jets can become at least a WC contender. Some big ifs though. Some of the teams on the schedule who look tough now may not be so good in 2018. We might catch them when they're playing poorly. So many possibilities, but Mac needs to nail this draft.
Agreed. There is no reason to put the Jets at the Lions as the kick-off to Thanksgiving. Have it to be New England or an NFC North team and be done with it.
I hope you're right, but I'll believe it when it happens! If he has any sense at all or desires to keep his job, then he will use FA and the draft to focus on the offense, but again, I'll have to see it happen to believe it.
I remember the Jets smacking the Bengals on Thanksgiving a while ago ... but for the most part it has been rather depressing to play on that day, I want to enjoy my dinner and not be a drunk asshole (ex - Pats seemingly score like 3 touchdowns in 50 seconds).
I was at the Bengals game. It was a great atmosphere at Metlife. One of my best tailgate memories actually. But like you say I rather watch them on the road IF they have to play on Thanksgiving.
Marry into a family that follows every single holiday to the same T and time frame and you'd hate it, so I'm praying it doesn't happen for my own selfish reasons.
Well MM, one of the few perks of being an expat in USA is having no family to please in traditional holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. We just do whatever the heck we feel like during those holidays. So give me a Jets game on Thanksgiving on Christmas Eve and I will be there rain or snow if Jets are competitive. When Jets are out of it I still might go depending on the weather. But it is best when they are on the road though.
I didn't know that Buffalo, Minnesota, Jacksonville, and the Titans were also filthy, crooked cheats. What did I miss?
The Jets haven’t played a single game on NBC since that night. I don’t think they’ll ever forgive us lol.
That's understandable. I just have to run between two houses, almost 2 hours apart, and we usually leave the first one around halftime/end of 3rd of the Lions game, and I barely get to watch any of the Lions game. I get to see the Dallas game. So if they're playing the Lions on TD, family will just have to hate me for a year, ha. But I doubt it happens. New England or an NFC North opponent is a much more popular draw.
Think we *might* get a SNF game this year. After having only 1 night/prime-time game last season, I think we'll have 2 or 3 this year. I'd say Buffalo, in Buffalo, on TNF and a home game. Maybe Green Bay or Minnesota.
As a season ticket holder I just hope all the home games are Sunday at 1:00. With the year they had I think they will get just one because everybody gets one. My guess is TNF and they will be shutout as far as MNF and SNF go.
Our chances go up astronomically if we sign Cousins. Drafting a QB wouldnt make a difference since the schedule is already made.
Thankfully there are no shortage of buffoons that will fall out of the woodwork to tell us that 6 wins arent any better than 0 wins, that its one in the same.
The schedule is in the process of being made. It's released in April. Only the opponents are known at this point.
