Trey Gowdy read the application. There are rules about how, when and where these documents can be read. One person from the committee was allowed to read it and they picked Gowdy who is sharp as a tack. It was a memo created by a committee that Gowdy was a part of, not just Nunes. Your post is mostly partisan spin. I do think you bring up a good point whether that was your intention or not - they should release the application to the fullest extent they can, and they should release all supporting documents to the fullest extent they can. They should release the counter memo and get the fisa judge in front of congress too. Whatever the truth is needs to come out on this because it sounds pretty fucked up from what we know so far.
They won’t release the application because it’s a part of an ongoing criminal investigation of the PRESIDENT. The judges renewed these applications multiple times, proving there was substantive info gained from surveilling Page, a Russian agent and someone trump felt was one of the best to join his campaign
If the memo is accurate then we can't have any confidence that the FBI was forthcoming with the information being presented in any of the applications. The entire premise of the memo is that the FBI acted as a partisan player by purposely misleading the fisa court in order to obtain the warrant. You can claim the memo is not accurate, and that may be true, but it also may be accurate. We need evidence from both sides.

The memo proves that the Russia investigation was instigated by Papadopolous' behaviour as reported by the Australians. Think about that...not a single person in the Trump administration or campaign reported to the FBI that the Russians were trying to affect the election, it had to be the Australians. EVERYONE KNOWS that it doesn't matter if a witness is biased...all that matters is whether the information they provide is correct, whether it's about a drug dealer or a Russian spy. There was/is no reason to believe that Steele was/is an unreliable witness, he served honorably as an MI6 officer for many years.
