bold move for this clown to try and pick a fight with the FBI. I'm sure it will work out well for him.

Funny thing about bloody noses is that they're relative. We hit NK with a nuke and give Kim his bloody nose, Kim hits Seattle with his nuke and gives US a bloody nose. Which one do you think will hurt the most??

    We won't go nuclear first.

If we hit NK to send a message it will likely be tomahawks hitting anything but their command structure and communications. Maybe a site that has been prominently featured in their missile development.

If we hit NK pre-emptively with a plan to go to war we will run the usual layered destruction of their command and communications infrastructure and their anti-air assets.

We'll wait on nukes until they either present a target that leaves no choice, like a massive invasion of the south that cannot be quickly countered by conventional forces or until they have shot off their first nuke.

"But Trump’s speech was also deeply dangerous for an even more important reason: Under the cover of his soothing rhetoric about unity and bipartisanship, Trump called on Congress to give him unprecedented and unquestionably antidemocratic powers: “Tonight,” he said, “I call on the congress to empower every Cabinet secretary with the authority to reward good workers—and to remove federal employees who undermine the public trust or fail the American people.” By design, it is easy to overlook the true significance of the second half of that phrase. But dwell on it for a moment, and imagine what this would actually look like in practice. Under Trump’s proposal, any Cabinet secretary could decide that, say, a law enforcement official investigating the president had “undermined the public trust” or “failed the American people”—and fire him on the spot. In other words, Trump is calling for an end to any semblance of independence for the IRS, the FBI, the Department of Justice, or any other federal agency."

Remember when Bill Clinton made that sweet deal that would prevent NK from getting nuclear weapons? It was similar to the sweet deal Obama made w/Iran.

Now we have a giant fucking mess on our hands. Maybe we should make another deal with NK on where they double pinky swears not to launch any more missiles. That should fix it.

I think we should bomb whatever site they choose to launch these missiles from to send them a message.

Clinton, Bush, Obama, they all sucked. A half ass, unprepared entry into war without working with our allies in the region seems like the way to go. what could go wrong here

I thought Clinton was good tbh. That's not too say I don't have my complaints.

My opinion is that we cannot continue to allow nk to aggressively launch missiles. I'm anti war but these clowns take things too far and need to be dealt with somehow. Nothing so far has worked.

But bombing them dramatically increases the likelihood they'll go nuclear. Kim's primary concern is keeping himself in power. If we bomb them, he might decide that the end of his reign is near unless he scares us off by detonating a nuclear weapon. I can see a situation where he uses a nuke, and Americans are so horrified that they demand Trump settles with NK.

If only there was some previously unknown 'Area 51' technology developed into a fail-safe anti missile defense system that would effectively empty Jong-un's holster.

back on thread topic: . what, no Amtrak jokes today?

Well we've had them cornered for decades and handled some wacky dictators just fine without the need for a pre-emptive strike endangering hundreds of thousands of american lives. Now though, we are so screwed we have to go to war. Seems questionable. Idk, maybe something worked before. I was just asking you a question

I don't believe we've had them cornered at all - they've been successfully developing nuclear weapons and ICBM's all along and have been testing them the whole time. Now they're just more powerful and more successful with each launch.

Trump has released a heavily redacted version of the memo on twitter.
