Not our fault they traded out of one of the best franchise QB's in Carson Wentz, they didn't fuck up by losing they fucked up by trading down. The browns won the lottery and said no thanks. That's on them
In the end Mac and Bowles get an extension. We miss out on all the top qbs in the draft and free agency. End up with Blake Bortles and another defensive pick at No. 6. Offense is overrated. We can win with a JAG quarterback. Pun intended.
What does mediocrity breed, its breeds more mediocrity. I'd rather have the hope of a franchise QB then the hope of a pro bowl safety. We needed a pathetically bad losing season in 2017, one pathetic losing season wasn't going to breed a losers mentality
Interesting. For whatever reason, Alex Smith is one of those polarizing guys. There's no doubt that he has his fans in and around league circles.
Sometimes you gotta hit rock bottom to get better. Browns certainly have a lot of ammunition to improve this off-season. Dorsey can really reshape that franchise. We have to rely heavily on Mac buying us a team cause he can't draft one.
If we don't I hope it's the Browns or Broncos.. putting us in a great spot to draft a QB. I'm not a huge fan of cousins but he's better than what we got. I'm fine with whatever happens just get a QB for better or worse.
I think he's way more popular inside the league than he is with the fans, which if you think about it is the pattern a player would want.
Arizona also has a pretty good WR. His name is Larry Fitzgerald. You may have heard of him. They also have a pretty good corps of receivers: JJ Nelson 29 receptions, 508 yds., 17.5 ypc, 2 TDs Jaron Brown 31 receptions, 477 yds., 15.4 ypc, 4 TDs Jermaine Gresham (TE) 33 receptions, 322 yds, 9.8 ypc, 2 TDs John Brown 21 receptions, 299 yds., 14.2 ypc, 3 TDs Andre Ellington (RB)* 33 receptions, 297 yards, 9.0 ypc, 0 TDs Ricky Seals Jones (TE) 12 receptions, 201 yds., 16.8 ypc, 3 TDs DJ Foster (RB) 17 receptions, 133 yds., 7.8 ypc, 0 TDs Troy Niklas (TE) 11 receptions, 132 yds., 12.0 ypc, 1 TD Ellington is now a Houston Texan. His receptions will be picked up by someone else. David Johnson only played in one game last season. In 2016 he had 80 receptions for 879 yds, a 11.0 ypc average, and 4 TDs.
The Broncos can afford Cousins if they want him, and this report very well may be true. I’m sure Cousins knows at this moment where he is going to play next year (Big FA usually are nabbed for the official start). That said Cowherd is probably blowing smoke up our ass. Since when did he become Adam Schefter? The one thing that is going to hurt Denver is that they will have to backload his salary to get him that 100M guaranteed he’s looking for. For a veteran roster that is going to need to turnover soon that could hurt. Just take a look at the Ravens after the Flacco contract. Also if he ends up on Denver it takes a team in front of us in the draft out of the runnning for a QB.
Apparently Denver was one of the teams trying to trade for Smith and put Talib in the offer. Have to believe they will be in hard on the Cousins market. They clearly want a veteran.
No, he's played on teams that were winners. He's also been playing a lot longer and been dumped from 2 teams now.
And I look at it the opposite way. 65 or so percent of these so called top QB types flunk out. A couple have a shot to being good, most you pray turn into a Cousins type. A QB who is highly productive even surrounded with mediocre talent.
