Done deal for me as far as the first deal goes you have to put franchise QB above all, although I would try to get the browns to take a future 2nd and make every effort to keep the first

Adams and Williams might be enough by themselves to get the deal done for all we know

I'd rather go 0-16 with a young QB that shows flashes, then 8/8 +/- with Cousins for the next 3-4 years. Plus 0-16 has the added bonus that Mac and Bowles are pretty much guaranteed to get fired.

Nope. At five the bastard GM of Denver will trade the pick to Buffalo and we get screwed. That is exactly what might happen. But since the Jets secretely sneaked in and signed Bridgewater before the draft we will stay on course with BPA.

so you wanna be the browns ... unless you are submitting your paperwork to become a GM for the Jets, I suggest you think about a different outcome :(

We would have been browns level if we didn't sign McCown , and our franchise would be celebrating an incoming rosen/darnold, McCown was such a diasterous signing in the grand scheme

yea, the browns were the browns with mccown the year before. so either the team has more talent or better coaching than popular belief

Or he had a career year and didn't get injured due to a stroke of massive jets "luck" Remember that McCown played only a handful of games for the browns last year.

a Bryce petty lead jets team would guarantee the 2nd overall and possibly would have gotten the first overall with a loss to the browns in Cleveland

McCown had the best year of his life and it possibly is going to hurt us badly, it could still work out if one of them falls to us but mccowns impact can't be spun as a positive unless you are really fishing for things.

Yep, but the biggest issue is if we don’t strike out that has me worried. I’m not saying I think Cousins won’t work out if he signed with us, I’m sayinf the risk of him not working out here is far greater than if we went with the talent at QB in this upcoming draft.

There are some seriously talented QBs in this upcoming draft. There’s always a chance we still draft a dud, odds as a Jet fan says this is most likely, but the failure and risk rate of drafting a QB Vs signing Cousins, is night and day.

Losing gets you a higher pick and that is a positive.

Losing gets you closer to losing bowels and Mac another positive

This particular year losing had to be a priority due to the Potential franchise QB's available.

The fans were all on board for a full tank, there was going to be no backlash but we signed McCown and possibly screwed ourselves over in the process

True, but I mean, it's not like they didn't have to pay Smith.

Perhaps you are right. I think given everything that has transpired, Cousins very well may have wanted out of Washington.

Yes that would be preferable, That would be the nicest thing they ever did for this franchise and the fans. We could keep them on as an advisor and a defensive backs coach as a thank you for their sacrifice
