I edited my post, but it's basically the same message. I for one hope you are right, but I will not be shocked to see Mac standing next to Kirk Cousins during his official signing day. Connect the dots....Jets fired John Morton and promote Jeremy Bates, who will run a Shanahan type offense. Mike Shanahan praises Cousins and Bates. Next Cousins praises thw Jets OC hire, Jeremy Bates. It's a big circle jerk. Manish is being fed info by someone close to Mac. It's all payback for his article that says the Jets are headed in the right direction. Mehta is bobbing that head for Mac...Keep them sources coming Mac. Lol
I think you missed his point. If Cousins, in some people's eyes, isn't in the top 50% of the QBs in the league, is he worth being paid like he's one of the best. No way.
This is setting up nicely for the Jets. Allen may go #1 overall or at least 4 because the Browns seem to really like him. At 2, I'm not sure what the Giants will do but you have to think Barkley is enticing there. 3, the Colts are a wild card but I'd have to think that Luck will be ready for the for next season. At 4, Browns will either take the QB here or first. If they go Allen, then can grab a stud OL like Nelson or grab BPA on defense. At 5, if they have Cousins, they surely won't go QB, So they will go BPA, likely OL. That means the Jets can theoretically have options like Darnold AND Rosen AND Mayfield at their disposal! ...Now what would you choose out of those 3?
I am happy. Don't want to overpay. And if he does well there it is because of the amount of talent on that offense.
My take on Gruden's EOS look is that he wants a QB who he knows will be there, not on a year to year basis...
Cowherd reporting him going to Denver??? Yes ..As a matter of fact Lt Uhura informed Capt Kirk this morning she was receiving some message from planet Broncomium ..When the Capt took the deck Checov immediately put through the visual ...it was a strange alien ..one that resembled an old QB at Stanford...it was it was John Elway!!!! Kirk was informed that on March 15 he must beam down for an extended stay..or The Federation will pay!!...sheesh
I like Cowherd but he is wrong just as much as he is right. The guy can see past the nonsense media and talks from his perspective. I dig it. I’m this case I think he is also right and wrong. Ha He will hurt a team, if he goes to the wrong team. A team that is strapped for cash, he will set them back because that team will be handcuffed by his deal. A team like us, would be okay short term. It’s the long term I’m worried about. If we shove all our chips in on Cousins, and strike out, we will be left in the same mediocre cycle we’ve found ourselves in for the last 50 Years. I don’t think this is the answer Jets fans are looking for by any stretch of the imagination, the draft is where we should be making a splash. Not FA. Any other year I would be okay with this, this is the year of the QB in the draft. To ignore it, this year, of all years, will be absolutely foolish.
The trade makes sense for one reason and one reason only. For all those who have turned this into the skins didn't want KC as their QB, they weren't getting him. He was not signing with Wash and they weren't franchising him at 34 Mil. But hey, let's try and make it into Wash actually made a good play here, lol
Wow If the Colin Cowherd news be true...THEN MAC HAS GET OFF HIS ASS COME DRAFT DAY AND TRADE THE F UP. For WHO YOU LIKE Like Philly did for Wentz and Reid did for Mahomes DONT SIT AT 6...that would be the worst move Well guys ...Rosen Darnold Mayfield YESSSS But who will it be...
If we go all in after Cousins and strike out we're still sitting at 6 with one less team looking for a QB in the draft. Cousins will sign on the first day of FA March 14th, drafts over a month later. No big deal we draft a QB.
if denver gets cousins they are trading down with someone that needs a qb. they will have to to make up the talent deficit they will cause cutting people to sign cousins. the only way jets end up with one of their top 3 qbs, assuming of course they are in agreement with popular thought, is to move to 3. otherwise expect to get jumped at least once maybe twice. ftr, i wouldn't move up for anyone.
Because that team is so special. Special D. Special WRs Special GM. Special HC So special that they would up with the same special 5 win season as the rebuilding Jets. I'm impressed. I bet Cousins is too A GM who's only success was taking a HOF QB into fold who wanted to come to Denver. Other than that his QB hires make Macc look like Walsh.
I'll be happy with Mayfield, I would be absolutely ecstatic if we got Rosen or Darnold. Wonder if the Browns still like Jamaal Adams... I would part with him and a pick or two in order to secure one of those actual franchise changing players.
Cowherd is an annoying dope. The Broncos have $26,773,245 in cap space. So unless they move those defensive pieces around (which will alter the strength of the team), they don't have the money to sign Cousins to a long term deal. Moreover, if he's close to a deal with the Broncos, I hope they are ready to lose multiple 1st rounders for tampering prior to the FA period. Unless a trade and sign is worked out, this is total fabrication.
Blow your mind strategy: Leonard Williams, Jamal Adams and our No. 6 pick for the Browns No. 1 overall pic. I call it the 666 package. Then trade back for 3 first round picks. Finish the season with the top overall pick, then hire Jim Harbaugh.
