I was reacting to JohnnyP's post that this drastically helps the Jets. I don't think it affects the Jets at all, since I don't think Washington was ever a threat to swoop in ahead of the Jets for a rookie QB, and I never thought they were going to re-sign Cousins. I also don't think Cousins will sign with the Jets, but I certainly agree that him signing with Cleveland or Denver would potentially help the Jets. I just think that Washington letting Cousins go sooner or later was a foregone conclusion. Edit: What is interesting, however, is that if Washington releases him soon all of a sudden his life will get very interesting. The recent interviews with him certainly sounded like he thought little was going to happen until much closer to March 6.
Yeah that is exactly what I thought right away. We could have had him except we have morons running the Jets. Absolute morons!!
Its obvious they have the "coaches" that see him and put their faith in him. We have coaches that can't get a draft pick garbage time at the end of the season. Mahomes 1 game looked better than Petty and Hackenberg enitire careers. I would be happy with that as a Jets fan as that would be progress. All the Jets have are questions and no talent.
The real trap is Cousins. When Alex 104.7 Smith take the Redskins further than Cousins did, you will have to churn out more excuses for why poor Captain Kirk couldn't.
Snyder is such a moron Honestly he makes Woody Johnson look like Art Rooney. The guy finally gets lucky and finds a franchise QB (in the 4th round!) after blowing a ton of draft capital on RG3 and jerks him around to the point that he has no more leverage and loses him for nothing. He then trades a second round pick to Andy Reid for another aging QBs. YOU TRIED THIS WITH MCNABB YOU MORON! Seriously you cannot make this stuff up. I’d be beside myself if I was a Skins fan
Smith won’t have the luxuries he had in kc or his couple of good years in San Fran. I’m not worried about him having any success, not in the east on that team with philly and Dallas twice a year. I see Dan Snyder still thinks its a fantasy team
Excellent move by the Redskins. Once again, another place Mac is from schools him in the off-season. Last year the Texans got Watson, this year the Skins get Smith for a 3rd rd pick. Wow.
They can't release him. He's a free agent. Either way, he can't sign somewhere until the new league year.
This is the dumbest move I have seen a franchise make in a while. Probably since the Skins traded a kings ransom for RGIII.
ACL already torn? In a league that’s all about durability, that’s not a good start. Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.
