it's a good article showing both sides

as far as completion percentage it dropped to 64.3 which is still really good. in todays NFL 60 is considered the average. the top Qbs are between 60-70 in 2017 rodgers was at 64.7, ben at 64.2. cousins was 11th right behind ryan and rodgers. that's pretty good company. McCown was leading the NFL for quite a while in 2017 and finished 5th. above ben, rodgers, ryan, brady, stafford. bradys career % is 63.9 and he is considered one of the top 5 Qbs all time. so even in the "down year" as you say it's still better then bradys career average. He also lost all his WRs. he had garcon and jackson and reed. now in 2017 he had pryor who only started 2 games, reed missed most of the year, plus crowder, doctson, grant. A huge drop off in talent at the WR position. Kearse and anderson are better then anything washington has.

As far as record vs winning teams the same goes for every QB. they all have a worse record against better teams. Maybe you can argue brady but besides him what top QB doens't have a losing record vs winning teams.

I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. I'm just showing both sides of the coin and providing all the info and what GMs have to look at when making decisions. Jay Gruden hasn't done shit as a coach either. i'm surprised he still has a job to be honest.

Yeah, I hear you, I just didn't like Gruden's body language when he was asked to assess Cousins. Something is off there. Just my hunch.

I always take coaches assessments with a grain of salt. Hell Mcadoo benched eli for geno, now their new coach is praising eli and saying he has years left in him. Rex said every player he had was the best ever. Minn coach criticized keenum all year and threatened to bench him in the playoffs despite his excellent play.

If Kirk Cousins doesn't sign with Jets...

    Then I'll be Very Happy.

Yeah, I just don't get the impression Washington is in love with Cousins and that bothers me. I want the guy to be loved by his own team before I break the bank for him.

And, to be honest, it jives with my own personal assessment of Cousins. I'm just not a huge fan.

If they weren't in love with him, he'd be gone already. not franchised twice. they offered him a big contract last offseason too. they just underbid him compared to stafford. they are still working on a deal with him now. If they didn't love him none of that would have happened

How Washington handles things going forward will be very telling. We'll see.

I think the Jets will remain the dark horse in the Cousins talk. Mac will be there in the end, may pull out if things get too expensive. Broncos and Browns look to be the headliners so far. For the Jets, worst case scenario is him going to the Cardinals.

Of course the Broncos are considered the favorite because Elway is a tremendous salesman. If he wants Cousins he will probably figure out a way to land him.

With that said I think Denver is a terrible spot for both Cousins and the franchise. They are going to tie up all their cap space into Cousins and have will have no room left to fix their other holes.

At least the Jets and Browns could sell Cousins on the fact that they could use free agency and the draft to get him weapons and build him an Oline.

Still seems to me that the obvious place for Cousins is Jacksonville. They have absolutely everything they need other than a good quarterback, and he would only cost them $10 million next year, since Bortles costs them $19 million next year (and can be cut with no dead money on the cap).

What's up with this Cousins obsession anyway? I never thought he was all that anyway, so I just can't figure out, for the life of me, why people would drool over this second class of a QB. [Not saying Jets had anyone better, but Jets don't need HIM to succeed.]

If Kirk Cousins doesn't sign with the Jets, we can count ourselves fortunate that Mac didn't tie up a huge chunk of the cap on a 2nd tier QB who would be paid like one of the 2-3 best QBs in the entire NFL, we can continue the rebuild as we should, and hopefully draft and develop our own FQB.

Major complication for Cousins and Jacksonville - Bortles just had wrist surgery four days ago. The only thing his salary is guaranteed for is injury, so if he is not healthy by March 14 they are on the hook for his $19 million and they’re not signing Cousins. This is very good news for any team that would like to sign Cousins, including perhaps the Jets.

again if they didn't love him, there would be no discussion, he would be 100% gone and they would say were letting him walk. you don't even consider 20+ mil a year if you don't love the player

I wouldn't mind seeing Denver tie up all of their cap space on 2 players.
