Scenario 1 Let's say the draft goes Darnold Rosen Chubb Barkley Allen Who do you take at 6? Mayfield, Nelson, or Key or other (who)?
S1 - Mayfield S2 - Nelson As for the three, getting Nelson and Price would be huge. I'd be happy with Falk after that but don't see him as a day 1 or even year 1 starter. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I would love those 3 picks, but the reality is, Jets will take BPA and it will be Minka, selected by Mac and Bowles. At which point @101GangGreen101 will start a Go Fund me page for the fire Bowles and Mac banners to fly.
No more games. I shall bring hell, fire and brimstone on Jets Drive. Then no one will get a team to root for. Take that!
If Rosen, Barkley, Mayfield, and Darnold are all gone by #6, I would want to see what the QB options are first. If one of the Tier 2 guys shows they're capable of being the FQB I'd take him. Failing that, I'd seriously consider trading down and then look to add a QB, pass rusher, LT, C, RB, WR, with the next 3-4 picks.
There's no question in my mind. I take Mayfield. I would never take an OG that high, unless the Jets were set at every other position, and had a glaring weakness at OG, and that was the one player they were short of being ready to be serious contenders for the Lombardi Trophy. The Jets need a pass rusher, but Key isn't that great a prospect. I'd rather have Ogbonnia Ororonkwo of Oklahoma.
Scenario 1 - Mayfield Scenario 2 - Undecided, I need to find out if another QB prospect emerges and becomes worthy of the 6th pick. I remain skeptical that it's Allen.
Yes, I'd hate that draft. IMO Taking an OG that high is flat out nuts. Top 10 picks have to be for QBs, LTs and playmakers - either stud WRs, RBs, TEs, edge pass rushers, CBs or once in a generation safety prospects. When OGs are taken that high, their salary gets too high, and it always winds up throwing a team's salary structure and salary cap out of whack. As a result a lot of those guys wind up becoming FAs or getting traded. Look at 2015 the top 3 OGs in the game were ALL FAs (Iupati, Franklin, and Boling). I'd like getting Price with their 2nd round pick. I'm also not high on Falk, but even if I were, I think the 2nd round is too high for him. That would be a big reach imo. If Mac takes Nelson at #6, I'd want him fired on the spot and not even allow him to finish the draft. I might be one of the major contributors to that Go Fund Me page. Either that, or I'd be looking to hire a hit man to take out both Mac and Bowles.
Scenario 1:Baker Scenario 2:Allen Scenario 3:I love the first two picks, but I'm not yet sold on Falk. (especially if it is skipping over a RB like Michel, Guice etc)
I can understand that. For most of the last 2-3 months, I've thought that way. Early on, I was really high on both Rosen and Darnold, and now I'm not sure I'd want either one. Last year I liked Allen. This year I haven't, but after reading some reports from the Sr. Bowl and hearing how he played yesterday, he's growing on me again. The bottom line is that none of them are a Peyton Manning or Luck coming out of college. They all have their question marks and concerns. I can totally understand why some wouldn't trade up to take a QB in this draft. After hearing how White & Lauretta looked yesterday, I'm not sure I want to anymore, either. I think I'd rather the Jets stay put at #6, take the best QB there, and then take another QB in the 3rd or 4th round. Let the two rookies, McCown and Hack all compete for roster spots. Put the loser on the PS.
What stereotype? I've watched him and I'm sure I'll watch him more in the next couple of months, but I haven't been impressed. Certainly not enough to draft him at 6 or to put the future of our franchise in his hands
Too many needs for this team. Maybe we can find a trading partner to trade down with? Not that I am endorsing this, but Buffalo has picks 21 and 22 I believe. If you go buy the trade chart values, they are equal in points to the number 6 pick. Then we would have 2 first rounders and 2 second rounders. I would love to have Sony Michel, and possibly a starting cb, edge rusher or offensive line then take a chance on a Rosen or Darnold who I believe might slide due to inconsistencies.
