    Also, two possible replacements per schefter are Todd Haley (was just let go by the Steelers) and Jeremy bates (current jets QB coach)

    Wow. I wonder what happened. He seemed like such a promising hire. Hope it's Haley or DeFillipo.

    Meanwhile Kacey Rodgers has a job. Go figure...

    Morton wasn't that bad,he wasn't great but we have had worse.Give the guy a break it was his first year

    I think this just screams we are going all in on a guy like Kirk, or drafting a QB in Round 1. New QB, new OC.

    Still think it's an interesting move after just 1 season....

    Can't say I really understand this. McCown had a career year, and Hackenberg and Petty being bad doesn't have much to do with Morton that I can see. Sure, there were calls that seemed inexplicable, but offense was hardly the Jets biggest problem given their poor offensive line and lack of playmakers. The defense, on the other hand, dramatically underperformed in many ways, but Kacy Rodgers gets to stay?

    Is getting Haley worth doing this? Because Bates sure as hell isn't.

    why? he did good with the pieces we have, unless we already have haley in i can't see of a reason this happened

    I don’t know who will get the job but I do hope whoever gets interviewed is asked if during a game your original game plan is not working will you attempt to make offensive adjustments.
    Tampa Bay Denver Games were unbearable.

    Can't agree more. He was being praised thru the season for how the offense has over achieved. I heard his name get brought up with other teams wanting him as well. Not a fan.

    This fan base/forum calls for coaches heads seemingly every year and hardly ever get it. This guy really nobody wanted gone, so there he goes to the streets after only 1 season.

    Supposedly players weren't happy with him, and Bowles and he had differing approaches that weren't working.

    Don't really get this at all. A first year OC who got a career year out of a journeyman QB and did a respectable job with the players he had. So let's get rid of him.

    Rodgers is Todd's buddy so he's not going anywhere no matter what. Morton otoh, admitted to quitting which was in effect, giving his one year notice. Even if Todd ordered it, you just never admit it publicly under any circumstances.

    Aren't we lucky we kept our FO/CS in place... Dilly fckn Dilly.

    Reports are Bates will be promoted..can't say I really understand this move unless the players didn't like him like was mentioned.
