Ok so why can't we find a pass rusher of our liking by trading back up or maybe somehow finding a hidden gem? Why the heck does defense have to be the priority year after year ?
Just because you take 1 position before another doesn't make 1 a higher priority. They can still both be a priority. That's where the draft board comes into play. For example, Khalil Mack and Derek Carr. QB was still a priority.
When you take Chubb over mayfield or Allen then yes you are saying that pass rusher is a bigger priority then QB.. if you are taking Chubb over ej Manuel type prospects then sure that's perfectly fine but not this year, it's unacceptable this year.
it depends on how you feel about those prospects. You might feel someone is an "EJ Manuel" type prospect where-as Mac might think much differently.

So the same BPA crap that gets us nowhere, this regime has proved time and time again that they fail at finding the BPA. Leonard Williams not the BPA.... Darron lee not the bpa , Jamaal Adams not the bpa.... do you actually really trust this regimes " draft board" Mayfield or Allen might change this franchise and Chubb absolutely won't, give me the guy who has the potential to change this drek dreary swamp that we wallow in year after year.

Williams and Adams were BPA. That's incorrect on your end. Mahomes / Watson weren't the BPA and had a lot of risks. Mayfield and Allen will be the same. However, this time the draft board should be top heavy with QBs, seeing as they are going to be the BPAs.
i'm not really high on mac, but i do believe in the draft as a means to acquire good players and not taking lesser players for need. i also don't rate the draft in hindsight so i understand why he took williams and adams as they were very highly graded. lee, meh, an argument can be made either way.

But they weren't BPA, they are just who our regime thought was BPA. If you are gonna draft best available talent and not for need then you better actually get the best available talent.
