This is why my top choice is to throw the farm at Cousins. It opens up so many different doors in the draft. Not having to worry about a QB at 6 when there are most likely 3 QBs going before you pick would be quite a luxury. Oh, and on top of that, you'd have a top 10-12 QB already on the roster.

Besides, do you think we could buy a Qb on the FA market with $100mil ?

The Jets are in no position to say no to a top 10-12 QB that's already proven he can play in the big leagues.

If the Jets only had a choice between those 2 prospects, the majority on this board would have an absolute meltdown. There wouldn't be a right answer.

Do you have any proof that DePodesta actually has power in the draft over Dorsey? Do you have a link to support that?

The right answer would be taking the best pass-rusher in the draft over taking the 5th QB off the board.

Personally, there isn't a right answer to that TBH ... if you believe a QB with Lamar's talents can be coached up, then you go ahead and take him ... now that's no knock on Chubb, he's freaking awesome, Chubb destroyed Louisville in their head to head matchup (Louisville does have the worst line in the Power 5 schools however).

Chubb being available at 6 is very unlikely.

I'm leaning more and more ( if the Jets are looking for a vet) in going after Case Keenum. I'm not so sure the Vikings would put a franchise tag on him, or if it's feasible but the $ amount should be less than the price of Cousins. Keenum has had a pretty good year in leading the Minn to the playoffs.

Well yea, this is the reality. I'm just saying if the Giants, Browns, Colts and Broncos all go QB, we WILL have the choice of Chubb or Barkley at 6 with most likely Lamar Jackson sitting there too.

were gonna end up with Arden Key. just watch.

No Cousins, caught with our pants down on draft day as all the quarterbacks go, draft Arden Key and sign an average vet like Case Keenum or Alex Smith.

Is Garrapolo returning to the 49ers a sure thing or can we just give him a blank check?

I think you're being a bit dramatic here. Arden Key is projected to go around 20 in most mocks right now... some don't even have him going in the first round.

If The Jets pick Jackson over Arden Key or Chubb, not only will I convert to Bucs fan (local), but throw all my Jet paraphernalia down the toilet.

Might be able to trade back up into the first and grab Lamar a little later too. His stock is all over the place. That would be the ultimate gamble. Take a Barkley then trade back into the first and grab Jackson.

Some mocks have Key going ahead of Chubb.

That's fine w/ me cause I think Lamar is a QB prospect w/ a lot of potential. He has no character concerns, yet you prefer Arden Key who has character issues. Key isn't even better then Harold Landry IMO.

Actually to add Key v Landry is very questionable in terms of who is better.

I think Jackson can be had in the second. If the FO doesn’t love the QB’s left at 6, or can’t trade up to get who they want, Jackson is a good pick in the second. Barkley and Jackson would be a strong 1-2 draft.

IMO, Jackson is a glorified WR/RB that throws the football on occasion as a deception. He's not an NFL quarterback , at this very moment in time. And for the Jets to draft a project like this, when they already risked taking Hack in the 2nd round, is just plain stupid. Sorry, I'll take bets Mac doesn't go near him unless he drops to the 3rd round.

And when you say he has character issues, the only one I'm aware of is that he left the team in Spring of 2017. I don't see that as a big deal. Yes there will questions raised about it but it's not something that can't be explained.

I like Lamar Jackson a lot. I really hope he is successful in the NFL. But I think our Jets would ruin him. They'd be trying to turn him into a Josh Mccown, a conservative, hold onto the ball type and it would be disastrous.

If Bowles & Maccagnan weren't extended and we had a fresh new philosophy here I'd be all on board for Jackson but I dont want to see it now, this staff wouldn't know what to do with a player of Jackson's unique talents
