If they can get the Colts pick - and that's a big IF - and if the Giants take Rosen, which is very possible, then the Jets can get the "consolation prize" of Barkley. Well worth whatever we have to give up to get that pick either way.
Your're right. Plus, when the Jets do get a 'name' player, they always seem to be on the last legs of their career - Testaverde, Favre, Ronnie Lott, L. Tomlinson....on and on - certain exceptions like C. Martin and K. Mawae,....Mac has to find ways to paint a bright future and with approx $100M in cap money, that will help make the picture much rosier.
As crazy as it sounds extending TB and MM is part of that as players don't want to go somewhere the coaching staff changed every 2 years. Especially for established players they want to go somewhere there is stability not constant turnover.
Sounds fantastic.....I'm looking to purchase shares of Pioneer Aviation. How do you think the company will perform in 2018?
If Mayfield was 6'4" he might go 1st. It's what dropped Brees and Russell Wilson. This prolly has nothing to do with Manziel either.
The Manziel - Mayfield comparison is a poor one based on superficial similarities. Mayfield will be a legitimate NFL QB. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Jets are said to like Allen + suspect if true they will try to leapfrog Denver (trade with Browns #4). I’m not sure how I feel about Allen at this point. I love some of the throws + what scouts have to say about him (Wentz comparisons). Still, he reminds me of Sanchez in the sense that there is no cohesiveness or flow to his game. Complete a beautiful pass, then throw 3 shitty ones in a row. Mayfield is the guy who I like the most, but his height, spread offense and ultra talent around him create question marks that will likely mean he isn’t taken in the top 10... This was the year the Jets needed to stink to secure the #1 or 2 pick...
I think the giants are seriously thinking OL ...Eli if given time can still be a good QB and they also need a RB. I could see them taking OL first RB second and grab a QB to learn behind Eli for a year or 2.
Early word seems to be that Josh Allen is the front runner for Cleveland at 1. If both Rosen and Darnold declare the Jets will have to trade up. Indy is sitting in the catbird seat, and are hoping Darnold declares. The only QBs the Jets should consider in the top 6 are Allen, Rosen, and Darnold. Mayfield cannot be an option for the Jets. Hes a terrible fit for this market.
They can win you a SB tho and after QB it's the hardest thing to score on and maybe the second most important piece.. Denver and Giants are examples. But point taken. They gotta score on a QB. It's make or brake time. Anything else is a luxury at this time. If they could score a QB and a legit edge pass rusher in the first two rounds, or any round for that matter, by some miracle, it'll change things immediately. Especially considering the extra picks they have and the free money for FA's.
Everyone wanting Mac to trade up I just don't see it. He values his pics ...thought about trading up for the 1st for Goff but apparently Cleveland wanted to much. There will be a bidding war the way this is shaping up and all the qb needy teams. I see him trading up maybe but to Clevelands 4th not 1st overall. I don't think he'll give up that much.
