Giants new GM sounds very commited to Eli. Not sure they are the lock to draft a QB that everyone seems to think they are.

They may give this team one more shot and selecting the top T or even Barkley would go a long way towards helping that cause.

    Would be huge for us.

    Plus Thousands

People think getting Cousins is "quicker success and less risky" but of course its a big one since you are counting on playoff level production from Kurt ..right away..dude could get hurt and maybe Robbie Kearse and receiving corps have the dropsies or are busy drawing penalties ...TBH we are not going 16-0 with KC more like 10-6 and an outside shot of getting in

At least you know that with a very talented kid he will prob be tearing up the league after a year of learning like the recent first round QBs drafted...plus there is 67 per cent chance they are NFL material

It's a big risk because he MAY get hurt? That's the same for any team or any player. That is an absolutely terrible example of why NOT to sign KIRK.

Also, Cousins has proven over the past 3 years he can give you top 10 QB production. There is no risk with how he will produce on a team with better weapons all around. The risk for trading up and drafting a young QB who probably hasn't played in pro system and has not seen any snaps in the NFL is an astronomically greater risk.

Before he was injured he had already showing he was an elite QB, in 2004 He led them to a 11-4 record, threw only 7 interceptions and won a division title.

He followed that up with another outstanding year 2005, I believe he was franchised and was hurt in the last game of 2005 but he had already cemented his status as an up and coming FQB.

Apart from the injury, both QBs Cousins and Drew had given enough of a resume to their original teams that they can be relied upon to be FQBs.

Chargers offered him an large contract but heavy on incentives and Washington is still wondering what to do with Cousins.

When and if Cousins leaves to Denver and leads them to multiple winning seasons with good QB numbers it's dejavu all over again.

I believe Cousins will be a bronco by the time it's all said and done.

Bring McCown back and draft a guy. Say good-bye to either Petty or Hackenberg but keep the other.

I'd have to beg to differ on a few. cousins now is much better then manning was when he went to denver. Obviously not as good as manning in his prime but even in the SB manning looked terrible. basically he just didn't fuck up. cousins is better then gannon for sure and warner. warner had so much talent around him. 2 HOF WRs and a HOF RB. greatest show on turf. Out of that list, only Brees is a better QB when he went to NO then cousins is currently and even then he was coming off a major injury and could have pulled a chad and never recovered. Instead he went on to be one of the best all time and a 1st ballot HOFer

I think we draft a QB either way personally, but if we land cousins we take a late one, if not we take one at the top of the draft.

I think Dave Gettleman is going to do some great things for the New York Jets this year ;)

The Giants need Barkley more than they need a QB right now. They haven't been able to run the ball in years.

Webb was a good prospect too and hasn't had a chance yet.

I think the Giants will probably go with a RB or OL as well.

Manning won the MVP and broke just about every single season record in Denver.
He was amazing for them. If Cousins gave us a good fraction of that we'd be in great shape.

It’s a pretty safe wager that no qb drafted this year will put up better numbers than cousins has the last 3 years. Not that they will all be complete bust, just cousins has been that good

not the year he won the SB though. He choked in the SB that record setting year IIRC

His record breaking year was 2nd in Denver although his 1st 3 seasons there were all amazing. however in all 3 years he choked in the playoffs. twice losing the 1st game and once losing the SB in a 43-8 ass whooping.

In his final year when he won the SB he was a shell of himself. he played in 10 games, threw 9TDs (lowest career average per game) to 17 INTS (tied for most since his rookie year when he played all 16) Less then 60% completions (only time since his rookie year) and a lowly 250 yards per game. in the playoffs that year he threw only 2 TDs total in 3 games 1 INT and a 75 QBR, less then 200 yards per game and 55% comp. he was terrible and did not win them a SB that year.

This will be the most likely case now. Especially with Bowles coming back. He loves McCown. Petty will be the odd man out. It will be Hackenberg, McCown and an early round QB headed into 2018 I bet.

People don't realize what a mess the Redskins are as a franchise. Cousins has literally carried them 3 straight seasons now. I would sign him if I could, I just don't think he will end up on the Jets. Too many better options for him. After all this time in DC, I expect him to want to go to a franchise with it's head on straight.

Exactly. There's little to no chance he ends up in NY unless Mac either presents him with an offer that is just leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else's out there or if the market is surprisingly dry compared to what everyone is expecting for Cousins. Either way, I'd expect to see him end up with someone else. There will be a few decent teams in need of an upgrade at the QB position (Denver, possibly Jacksonville and Arizona, to name a few) that would probably be more attractive options for Cousins.

The Jets QB next season will not likely be Cousins. He will sign with a contender. Why can't people see that? He comes to the Jets only if he has no other options. Why would he come here and be part of a rebuild? The OL stinks, the WRs are all young and still somewhat unproven, and the CS is still in a prove it mode, even with the extension.

Mark my words, the Jets QB next season will either be McCown again or some other retread like Alex Smith, Tyrod Taylor, Sam Bradford etc. Meanwhile, the Giants will have Rosen and will make the playoffs 2-3 seasons from now and win another SB before the Jets do because they at least know how to stink. This franchise is so bad, they can't even lose correctly.

Lol..I get what you are saying but so many posters put the cart before the horse...why would Cousins come to a team in middle of a rebuild??????

We are rebuilding a OL ...I hope ..so I guess that's good

We have a clueless Coach another Marvin Lewis...not good

Chances with the rest of the TEam Offense and Defense we are a hair away from several winning seasons...good luck with that

An ave/ low average GM to listen to what Cousin and his Agent want from us besides $...meh

Brainless Owner..So Mr Cousins going from one brain dead owner Snyder to another???...Too funny..12 other teams have an edge here

NY NY "it's a wonderful town" of course that's good... haha Maybe wifey likes Broadway and shopping on 5th avenue

    Plus 10 Million

Why do people not get it here?? Most of them are 27 years old and think if they can declare their opinion..."we get Cousins because we have millions in cap space" " who will pay him 30 million"??? loudly and as obnoxiously as possible Its traveling from their mouth to Gods ear
