This is it. Last game on the list. #5 Notre Dame goes to play at #3 USC. I'm surprised that team is actually #3. But so much the better. Football Army Recap/USC Preview 11/19/2006 Football ~ The University of Notre Dame football team, now 10-1 for the fifth time in school history, focuses its attention to the top college football rivalry in the nation this weekend. Notre Dame and USC, both ranked in the top five in the country, will face off in Los Angeles on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET (ABC). Coach Weis wrapped up Notre Dame's emotional win over Army on Sunday and began to look ahead at this weekend's matchup with USC at his press conference on Sunday. Coach Weis also will hold his weekly press conference on Tuesday at 12 noon ET. You can see that press conference live on und.com.
I am surprised USC is #3 too, they should be #2. USC has played an incredibly difficult schedule and has 1 loss while Mich has played an incredibly easy sched and has 1 loss but they ant a Mich-OSU rematch for some reason b/c Mich made it "close" even though OSU was in control of that game from almsot the start.
Read the BCS thread, an act of god. Arkansas loss to LSU Florida loss to Arkansas win by 30+ act of god USC win over UCLA by 20+
Yea there's pretty much no chance ND makes the title game, even though I think teams like ND and Wisconsin (whose only losses were against #2 Michigan) deserve a shot at it in a playoff. But then I realize the BCS sucks, and we'll have an OSU/Michigan rematch. I think ND gets the win here in a very tight, high scoring game. McKnight and Samardz---- (can't spell) should have their way against a not very good secondary, and Jarrett/Smith the same way for USC. In the end, ND has a tad more creativity, heart, and defense to come away with a 48-44 like win.
I would be very, very surprised if Notre Dame wins this game. USC and Ohio State will play for the national title.
basically, for ND to make the BCS Championship game... - We MUST beat USC - Michigan MUST lose thats about it (yikes)
There could be a little of that ND favortism as well. Brady Quinn and all..... People may favor them more than other teams.
I see a shootout with ND winning barely, I dont see it as exciting as last years game but it should be similar. ND has basically nearly no shot in hell to make it, I dont believe they deserve it after the bad loss against Michigan but then again, that was the worst game ND played all year and I think the BCS systm isnt fair. However as a ND fan, I still dont think ND deserves it.
Great theory but there is one fatal flaw in that theory..............MICHIGAN HAS NO GAMES LEFT TO PLAY EXCEPT THE BCS BOWL GAME.
Notre Dame better win. I really don't feel like being pissed off tonight. And I don't feel like drinking either. This game could cause me to.
ND clinched a BCS bowl game! With Arkansas, Texas, and West Virginia losing ND is a lock to get an at-large bid
Arkansas will get it back if they beat Florida. This loss for them also means LSU will get heavy considerations for a AT-Large Bid. I see the 3 bids being like this Notre Dame LSU(Especially if they can beat Florida) Louisville(Taking Rutgers beats WVU) Poor Boise St.... But anyways as for this game, I see ND winning 44-38. Its going to be a slugfest for sure. Watch out for Steve Smith, I see him being wild today and will play real well. Gotta pressure Mr. Booty, and make him nervous in the pocket.
I swear to science, does anyone follow college football anymore? It's Arkansas vs Florida in the SEC title game. Next thing I'll hear is that ND has to play Navy for the Independent Title next week at the Independent Bowl.
