yeah, but that was right after 9/11 and it was to look back on it, and honor Washington DC & New York City, the two places that got hit
If Parcells is still in Dallas, then they'll go Belichick vs Tuna. Jets would need to make playoffs to get that game.
I'd prefer it not be the Jets. We don't need to play a short week on the road. It's hard enough to win in Dallas as it is.
That's not true. There are only six possibilities for the Lions game. For the Cowboys there are only two possibilities.
How so.. what rules am I missing? The only way it can't work out is if the Lions play the Cowboys.. Even the Chiefs or Broncos can get another one.
Lions will have to play in the FOX game. They cannot host either one of their 2007 AFC opponents. That would leave the door open for them to host any of their home NFC opponents (5, if Dallas is an opponent). Cowboys will be on CBS next Thanksgiving because they will be hosting an AFC team.
Yeah, well don't get your hopes up. The NFL is doing a piss poor job at Throwbacks in the past 2 Thanksgivings now. Total ass.
Yes it does. Jim Nantz said so on an interview on WFAN in a response to some other question, but that's how it is, and it is written in the new broadcasting contracts.
Cool, didn't know that... Looks like KC may become part of the permanent rotation of the night game.. Its a possibility. It's in the Denver Post, but I do not have the link in front of me. PFT has it. My guess.. Jets @ Dallas ... Mangini against one of his mentors.
KC wouldn't be a bad place to have a rotation, but I hope that night game is like a wild card that can be assigned to any game.
http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/sports/football/nfl/kansas_city_chiefs/16086105.htm As JetsIn2004 said, good chance that KC is a staying venue for Thanksgiving due to them having a good fanbase. As for when people say ''we will get short rest though'', See I look at it this way. Your right, we get less time to prepare for this game BUT that means we get more time to prepare for the next game afterwords. And Id rather lose to an NFC Team(Det or Dal) then to an upcoming AFC Team that would follow. Oh and We probably wont be getting the Thanksgiving game next year because we know the NE love affair. BUT call it a hunch but I think the Jets@Giants game next year WILL be televised on Saturday. I think the Giants always play an AFC Team on saturday, since I remember when they played the Pats and Jags a few times. So thats when we will probably get our ''day''. EDIT: But now that I think about it, we COULD get a Thanksgiving game. But this means we need to finish 2nd as well as the Chiefs. A Herman Edwards vs Old Team storyline is intriguing and would sell enough for that to be a thanksgiving game.
It's not always AFC vs. NFC. So, I'm not sure if that is the games they are actually going to choose from. But there is that 3rd game now
If we finish strong and if the Pats struggle I think we could get it but if we fade away and NE easily wins the div and makes the title game then it will be NE again.
They have always scheduled Jets and/or Giants games on Saturdays late in the year so the NY market can get more meaningful games on Sunday. I would be shocked if Jets-Giants is on a Saturday. As far as KC goes we can only play them at HOME next year if we finish in the smae position in our division. As of now we would play them at home w/ KC in 2nd and us in 2nd.
They alternate every year, this year det played on CBS and dallas on FOX- next year they switch and so on. The team that plays on CBS plays the AFC team and since Dallas is on CBS next year they only play 2 AFC games so it's either us or NE for the Thanksgiving Day game.
