To clarify, I agree that the mentor thing is overrated. But it does make sense to have a veteran quarterback on your roster if you're transitioning to a rookie starter, and McCown, with his team-first attitude, would appear to be the perfect guy to fill that role.
Agree about the mentor thing, but if McCown comes back as the starter next year, he's going to want Fitzpatrick money at least. You can't expect a guy with the season he's had this year to play for less.
The Jets, as a franchise, outside of the preseason, have NEVER beaten Philly.......not once. So, you're probably correct about Andy Reid.
The Chiefs are paying him something like 352K. The balance of his 2017 6M salary is being paid by the Jets.
