I was on the tank mode earlier but this team changed my opinion. Kids play hard. They try to win. Morton is doing a great job. I can't be mad at players for trying their best. Now about next year. I hope Bowles isn't back but he most likely will. I made my peace with it already. Also what if Darold and Rosen don't pan out? I was devastated a few years ago when we missed the Mariota, Winston sweepstakes but both QB's are just average in my book. So what if Darnold and Rosen are the same? Luck isn't even playing, RG 3 is out of the league. My point is. Enjoy the games .It is what it is.

    Good point

However what if they become all world and lead their team to SB???

Look at Wentz and Goff ..so I guess that's a miracle happening?

Not trying to be smart with you but ...you go enjoy this Team ..I am pretty much done here

I could give a rats ass if they choose them. You can decide to roll with a franchise that about embarrassed their franchise QB over this benching while the coach lost the team and have more holes then needing a FQB.

Right now I’ll roll with the Jets Who has the way better offense, an emerging stud in robby Anderson, Kearse who’s stepped up as the year has gone on, McGuire who is at least a decent backup RB, and maybe a starter and McCown MAY be the next Kurt Warner (seriously he’s been the best player on the Jets), with how good he’s played this season. You just never know with these things. Besides, Mayfield maybe the better QB out of all of them and he will be around the mid 1st round.

I know how badly the fans want a FQB and I would have loved a Rosen or Darnold, but you gotta take things for what they are. This maybe a little career reincarnation here with McCown. You really don’t know. Maybe Mayfield is the answer to actually being the future at the position. You just don’t know. This was suppose to be a 0-16 team and they are 5-7 and far exceeding expectation. Change the culture, and instead of crying for losses, I’m embracing a team that hasn’t quit on Bowles. Say what you want about his conservative style or his clock management, half the battle is getting a “shitty group of players “ to get up and play toe to toe with the better teams in the league.

Jet won today and may have learned something in the process. No real reason to fire Boles since the team has not quit on the season. Going forward I see extensions accross the board. I dont see any FQB headed our way via draft though so nothing new there. So we sink or swim with Bowles, Morton and the Immortal Josh McCown. It is what it is.. 6-10 low to 10-6 high. yay

Curiously, when they asked Bowles about Lee not playing and Wilkerson not starting he went full-Belichick "mum" other than to say "there are team rules...we're moving on." Mo Wilk sounds like he might be turning into a pain in the ass. As for Lee (who if you recall Leo had to physically straighten out at a party), that sounds like a coach who feels he's pretty secure in his job - benching a #1 pick starter.

Jets going into a game 4-7, quickly down 14-0 a few years ago: do they come back like they did today?

  9. "The team plays hard for Bowles".

Why is this the standard we set for a coach? They DIDN'T play hard for him last year..which by the way ended the same way this one will...no playoffs, below .500 & nothing at QB to build off of.

It's as if last year's disaster is somehow now SAVING Bowles from being fired. If the team hadn't quit on Bowles last year, Marshall vs. Sheldon never transpired but we finished w. the same record & largely the same results...would you all be sold on bringing Bowles back in 2018 after today??

Another season with no QB and a lousy coach. To quote the immortal Bart Scott: "Can't wait!"

Team was trash last year and a violative locker room.

They pretty much got rid of the cancers and played more youth and it’s improved.

It's not. But that was the reason the fans used to say they thought he should be fired. Like they knew that it would happen again. It was wrong from day 1. The team was a glass house and that was Mike MacCaggnan and Woody.

Maybe if Woody hadn't interjected his lame ass into things Bowles' first year Bowles and the team would have had a fairer chance all along to be better at this point?

  13. So we're judging the coach by the locker room now I see. Cause record wise it's not much different than last year.

  14. They all have blame. That I agree w. you about. But how long are we gonna blame the personnel before Bowles actually has to show something beyond "improving" a fractured locker room that was partially his doing??

That whole fractured room thing was way overblown imo. He's getting another year, along with Mac, to finish what they started this year. Imo. If they hard started in '15 what they started in '17 then I would agree. I think they have to be separated, again, imo. I think Woody dictated '15 and for that reason he gives Mac/TB another year.

That is the standard for any coach. Ask coaches.

If anything you have to credit Bowles for getting the culture turned around so quickly. The locker room was toxic last year and a large part of that was residue left over from the Rex era. In one offseason he and Maccagnan have transformed the team into a pack of young hungry players fighting hard. This team is playing above their talent level currently. Put KC's roster next to the Jets and tell me how many players on this team would start in KC? Maybe Robby on offense and Williams on D, and that's only because Hali is injured. Who else? Bowles is far from perfect but he has the team progressing in the right direction. No reason to call for his firing currently.

I can see how you come to that conclusion and I respect your opinion, but remember Bowles has a direct line of communication with Woody in this organizational structure, I can guarantee that Bowles affinity for veterans was on the table in his conversations with Woody back in 2015.

Im sure that Bowles was on board 100% with Cromartie and Revis and any veteran being brought in to help this team as that has been his pattern up to this point.

So personally I can't give Bowles a pass for 2015 and blame woody.

Bowles knew he was being held accountable and that's why he fired his staff to save his own rear end, its time he's held accountable for not making playoffs for his tenure here.

He's turning into Marvin Lewis, which is funny because the members on this board think Marvin Lewis sucks as a HC even though he took his team to the playoffs 5 consecutive seasons with a locker room that is on par with guys in San Quentin prison.

Yet Bowles has his praises sung for bringing a locker room together but no playoffs on his resume?

  19. I'm solely looking beyond the current games into the offseason & beyond. I see no evidence of the team changing course from the same conservative "win with defense" approach b.c it hasn't changed in 3 years. In my opinion this is not a sustainable formula to build a winner in the modern game.

This will be a pivotal off season...the most important since 2006. There's absolutely no reason to not fix the offense both short & long term. I get alot of this falls on MAC.However he & Bowles are on equal footing while at the end of the day MAC is getting players who fit Bowles vision. Why do i have a funny feeling Bowles vision on offensive will be another veteran QB...perhaps a OL or 2 in FA & then right back to the defense in the draft?

I agree that he isn't going anywhere...but i disagree that the arrow is pointing up for this franchise b.c holistically nothing has really changed. It starts w. the head coach's formula for winning.

You win with players. Bowles gets the young players to play hard. They are well prepared. When they get more talent they win more games. Ask any coach what he wants and he will say more talent.
