Probably not the right place to put this thread but Giants are going to start Eli on Sunday per Ian Rappaport

Apparently the Giants approached Eli and told him they would start him but would also play Geno and Davis Webb extensively throughout the game.

Eli told them forget it pretty much.

Streak of 210 straight games started for Giants over

Yes, this is because the Giants' ownership are not stupid and they want the best QB in the draft. Then with this new QB, they will be contenders for the next 10-15 years. This is also exactly what I said would happen about 6 weeks ago when the majority of morons who occupy our fanbase were insisting "no team ever tanks."

Meanwhile, the older, less accomplished, Josh McCown will still be the Jets starter this week, because the Jets' brain trust knows better than trying to see what Petty and even Hackenberg have to offer in actual games.

Hilarious, well that just confirmed if there was ever a doubt where one of the top 3 QBs will be going next year. Of course their entire group will be fired too while we plod along with the same morons we have now for at least another year.

If I hadn't seen Schefter post this already, I would never believe it. That is just the dumbest thing I've seen since Kotite. Seriously.

Wonder how much job security has to do with this as McAdoo approached Eli about this. Did McAdoo make this decision or did it come from the higher ups?

My assumption is a decision of this magnitude is not only a coaching decision but an organizational and ownership kind of decision because of his history with the team.

If given by the higher ups, is McAdoo safe for next season?

Hard for me to imagine Giants bringing anyone back after this dumpster fire of a season

Definitely has to have the okay from Reese and likely even Mara and Tisch to do something like this. Have to admit, pretty honorable move by Eli refusing the token start if it was only to continue his starting streak.

How amazing would it be if Geno plays them out of a position to take a QB.

They beat the Chiefs in OT when they should have tanked and lost. Right?

Streak would have been tarnished under these circumstances but Eli said you either ride or die with me and since the Giants are in full tank mode, the streak and likely his Giants career is done. I think Eli is going to the Jaguars next season

Or plays good enough to make them think they don't need to draft a QB, then goes back to being Geno next season.

It definitely came from the owners. And no, it does not mean McAdoo is assured a job next year. This is how you run an organization if your sole concern is winning championships.

    I'll take either.

This guy who works in the department next to me is the worst Giants fan ever. It's great to see him squirm.

talking to Giant fans is so much fun, at my office they said we don't need a QB right now

WTF? OK, I hope that owner feels the same way.

Are White QBs discriminated against in the NFL?

  19. I trust Paul Ditino w Giant perspective more than anyone .He is adamant that Eli will be back next season bc the 10 mill they’re on the hook for.

He also thinks they’re best bet in the draft would be trading down to acquire more picks given the state of their roster..

While I don’t totallt agree w him I do tryst him & given how adamant he is..maybe he knows something we don’t.Hard to imagine the Giants passing on one of the QBs w a top 5 pick but there’s no denying how bad that roster currently is..if Eli is indeed back & they really like Webb maybe they DO trade down or even just take adifferent position.Wishful thinking maybe but the Giants almost always offer a curve ball on draft night

I expect this to go as well as the peterman experiment did up north. No line,no rb,no WRs.
At least geno has experience in that
