Jets currently have the 11th pick in the draft. Without playing a game, they could move up to 6th today. Games to watch, best outcomes for Jets in bold: Bears vs Lions Bucs vs Dolphins Bengals vs Broncos (both 3-6) Chargers vs Bills Arizona vs Texans With games vs the Panthers and Chiefs upcoming, Jets have a chance to fly down the draft order. While they don't need the top pick overall, finishing top 5 helps them find a QB.
The Jets have found dozens of QB's, finding a good one has been the problem. I don't see this draft being any different. I suppose rooting for other teams to lose is something.
Giants driving with under 2 minutes left. With 4 division games plus Arizona and Oakland I can see them possibly dropping behind the Jets in the draft, if they win here. Or maybe just wishful thinking
Houston came through. Bengals or Denver will win now. Jets probably picked up 3 spots today. If Chargers win that would be huge. If the Colts can shock someone down the road, the Jets will be in business.
Bengals V Broncos, Bengals up right now 13-7. Probably want a Bengal win since Jets play Broncos in Denver which I am going to guess is going to be a loss.
To think I thought this thread would highlight the AFC teams we needed to lose to stay 1 game out of the playoff race...
Speaking of Jets back-up QBs....while watching Utah-Washington Sat nite I saw Troy Taylor up in the coaches booth - I think he is Utah's OC....almost completely forgot about him......back up QB under Bruce Coslet in the early 90s
The Jets are among the nine teams with 4-6 records. There will be a lot of movement in draft position from week to week.
The Jets actually went from 11th pick to the 12th because there are nine 4-6 teams. However, they could be one win away from the 3rd pick depending on Thursday's games. The good news is that the Jets play Carolina, KC and at Denver the next three weeks. They'll likely lose them all. Chargers are playing much better, so I can see them smoking the Jets. The 4-6 group will start to separate the next two weeks as a lot of teams are playing each other. Best thing that could happen would be starting Hackenberg in Denver, as it would guarantee a loss.
Current draft order with SOS listed. http://www.tankathon.com/nfl Of the teams ahead of the Jets: Bears are 3-7. They have a higher SOS, so if they win once, the Jets can pass them. Bears host 49ers and Browns in the next few weeks. Denver 3-7: Next five games are against teams with losing records. However, four of them are on the road. Their one home game is the Jets. Raiders 4-6: Next two games are Denver and Giants both at home. They should win both. Bengals: Host the Browns Sunday and then Chicago in two weeks. Houston: Hosts 49ers in three weeks. Chargers: Play Cleveland, Redskins and the Jets. I think they'll win on Thanksgiving. With a loss to Carolina, Jets should pick up at least 3 spots this week.
