To me, Bowles isn't the kind of coach that is going to take us to the promise land and he continues to make the same mistakes he's made his entire tenure. Of course a major detriment to any coach is not having a FQB and that continues to plague this team, which is something Maccagnan also has to take the blame for. But how many times have the Jets come out flat for games? How many times do we have to ask ourselves why young players aren't playing over veterans when the younger players have more to offer? more to learn? In the situation of McCown not being benched yet, I completely understand but when we're mathematically eliminated from playoff contention the decision to bench him may become a necessity. I also think that playing McCown all year would be completely contradictory of what Maccagnan probably wants, which is why you allow a GM to hand pick his own HC rather than have both GM and HC report to the owner.
