I think it's understandable that we are so divided. Some fans only care about the immediate present. They want to have fun watching a few wins a season. Some fans are delusional and think the Jets and its players are much better than they actually are. Other fans care more about building a consistent winner, and are willing to suffer through a losing season or two, if necessary to rebuild our team the right way. Other fans care only about winning a SB, and won't even be content or satisfied with a perennial playoff team. Other fans are cynical and think the Jets and its players are worse than they actually are, and they expect the worst. Others are more middle ground between those extremes. I've seen it for years on this and other Jets fan sites. I think fans' opinions and desires have just been heightened and become more extreme out of frustration with so many years or losing, so many bad hires, so many bad coaching decisions, and having such clueless owners. We see other teams rise from the mire and become winners. We have seen our most hated rivals win multiple SBs or have perfect seasons, while the Jets were a laughingstock. I think it's also a result of the divide in our country. Few people are willing to compromise any more. It has to be their way or the highway. If your wife is two weeks overdue, then you better hope that the chaos will cause her to go into labor! I hope that she and the baby will do well whenever it is that the baby or your wife's doctor decide that it's time for the baby to make its appearance! Is this your first child? Congratulations regardless!
i have to admit that i am shocked that we are 2-2 at this point. i was in favor of canning bowles and rodgers, with morton becoming the hc and greene the dc. now, being the jets, watch them lose to 0-4 cleveland! long time jet fans are conditioned to expect it. besides, if they win 4 games or less, they could still have a shot at a 1st round qb pick. frankly, i would prefer it if petty becomes the fc and hack develops into a competant backup. that would leave a lot of draft capital to use to shore up other positions of need, like pass rush, wide receiver, o line and lb or cb.
I am still on the tank bandwagon but if this team keeps winning, well Morton is worth his Salt Hey...I have a Cousin Morton Maybe that's lucky???
I've been giving him a lot of credit all season...idk what's happening today...the O seems less creative.
Morton is EASILY having his Worst PC game of the season. Creating 3rd and longs on every drive. We get 8 yds passing on 1st and don't convert. We get a 1st down on 1st then throw a 2 yd pass and run next and creates another 3rd and long. absolutely clueless today.
Third and one hand the ball off 4yds behind line of scrimmage in shotgun formation, third and 10 throw 5 yd. pass in coverage, who the hell is calling plays today
3 Fucking Points against the 2nd to worst pass Defense in the NFL... You have GOT to be fuckin kidding me!!! AND Forte is Out... Seriously....
Not sure why he is getting criticized for not passing enough. 39 passes to 19 runs. Oline and McCown cost the team the game
At first glance that may seem true but more than 10 of those came in damn near “garbage time” at the end when we had literally no other option than to pass.
They averaged 1.9 ypc outside of one Powell run and were constantly in 3rd and longs because of being stubborn with the runs that weren’t working. A majority of the passes were on the final drive or two when the game was about over. Almost no shots taken downfield outside of one or two. That final statline difference is very misleading
To be fair though, it is hard to take shots down field when the QB is running for his life the moment he takes his fifth step on the drop back.
That’s a little bit of an exaggeration. Sure, the Oline sucked against a shitty defensive line outside McCoy, but there were plenty of plays he had time on and about 2-3 the sacks he took were on McNown and his awful pocket awareness. McNown reminds me a lil of the old Bills Qb Rob Johnson with wanting to keep his completion high instead of throwing it away and taking a lot of needless sacks.
