This is absurd. What is the positive outcome? That he gets his attitude right, plays great then tells the team to F off when he bolts in free agency for dicking him around? Whatever issues they have with him they either need to fix it up here or trade him.
It's the Niederreiter situation all over again..he'll just demand a trade and we will get a third line checking forward for him.
Don't worry, they will still have Bailey and his 14 goals in 82 games. Do you realize that Bailey will be out of the NHL in about 3 to 4 years and the isles are still waiting for him to fulfill his potential?
Ugh don't get me started on Bailey..this teams track record with their young players and how they develop them is brutal..on top of that it starting to feel like Weight is Caupuano 2.0.
Ho Sang in the minors is a freaking Joke ! Weight is not showing me much and I don't want to hear that they have had good talks or he took it well when the GUY ABSOLUTELY should be playing over other guys currently on this roster,,,,,,this kind of sickens me !
I know we have hammered Weigjt for Ho Sang, but Barzal has won over the staff with his discipline and offensive ability. He has been rewarded for playing team hockey, hopefully Hosang can make the adjustments needed for him to be a long term contributor. Still need to tighten up defense, too sloppy at times.
Good game last night. Isles outplayed the Caps for long stretches. I think the Isles could have a great season.
It's no coincidence that they played better without Peleck and Mayfield in the lineup. Those scrubs make it nearly impossible for the offense to get going, they don't move the puck well and both are weak in the defensive zone. I have seen mayfield play for years with the Soundtigers and he's no firecracker there either, he is just not good enough to play at the NHL level. Peleck on the other hand still can get better, send him back to AHL and let him work on his game.
Ugh they played good enough to win,,,,,,,,,,,OT was painful to watch , they blew a great scoring chance and then the bad guys come the other way to end it !
Doesn’t actually answer the questions it raises in the title but an interesting read none-the-less. Ho-Sang needs to be on this roster. https://www.lighthousehockey.com/20...ers-rangers-ho-sang-weight-shift-ahl-demotion
If he were Ovechkin good then yes, you double shift him and excuse his selfishness. He's not that type of talent, this was his reputation from the time the isles selected him, he's selfish and lacks discipline. If he is brought back it would have to be with conditions, he can't just do whatever he wants and stay on the ice, it's not pond hockey. He is being insubordinate and doesn't want to behave like a professional hockey player. I now understand why the islanders demoted him, and deservedly so.
He definitely needs an attitude adjustment but I think that coaching would likely be more effective up here with the coaches and more influential players in his ear.
He was already ignoring them, This is hockey 101 get off the ice after a 40 second shift. He's not listening, which I think is a huge red flag for any player.
go figure, they get blown out and then come back with a good effort against the Blues,,,,,BTW nice to see Ho Sang playing and not in the press box !
