Yep, not much of a story aside from the fact that Eli will likely be on another team next year. Maybe the Jaguars go after him, one team that needs a QB. Who knows. It would be the most jet thing ever if Giants get Darnold and he ends up being a HOF, while the jets go 8-8, and miss out on rosen and darnold and continue the cycle of being a middling team.
Eli is not the problem though, they have no oline, no RB, no WR at this point. Reese has done a terrible job assembling the offensive side of that team, injuries have played a role as well. Perfect storm of bad things affecting Gmen, I'm sure Macafoon will be fired if team quits on him again. If Darnold does well with Giants it won't be Macadoo helping him to develop.
Eli has started to look at the rush a lot more because he's scared of getting hit, Reese should take the blame for that - and he has missed some wide open receivers - missed king twice last week for what would be TD's I think. Giants fans will link themselves to the nostalgia and I don't think Eli is the most pressing problem but I never thought Eli was that great to begin with and if they're in position to draft Darnold or Rosen they likely will. I wonder though maybe they'll have Eli play next season while the new QB grooms? Who knows, but Eli doesn't strike me as being the type of QB that will be ok with that.
Saw it on espn, Giants young QB Webb might get rest of season to be evaluated and Giants were given direction from owner to start looking at young QBs for next draft.
If the team has already quit on McAdoo as it appears they have, putting in Webb over Eli may be the final nail in the coffin. I don't think there's any way McAdoo comes back next season and I'd argue that if they lose against the 49ers he may be gone before seasons end. Giants will likely have a top 5 pick but I'm hoping both Clevland and the 49ers are shopping their picks.
You said it. . Running a west coast system under John Morton *(with McCown helping to show him the ropes)? . . . wtf, color me Samfanboy.. : ) .
It's going to cost a ton of draft capital to move up, but it would be hilarious if we moved up - grabbed Darnold - he turns out to be a HOF and the Giants miss out - doubt it happens but one can dream
Looks like his confidence is back and he's making the young new receivers look pretty good out there. Was wondering if he was going to come back from the drumming earlier in the year, it wasn't looking good, but kudos to Darnold
One of the things that has been mentioned, especially in the UCLA game was his awkward footwork. Also taking a FG opportunity away with not being aware of the time remaining. Still not sold on him but again I haven't been particularly sold by any of the other potential QB's (other than Rosen)
I didn't see the first half but despite the help from his running game that throw out of the end zone while crammed in the pocket to Pittman was a dagger. This right after Stanford blew it going for it on 4th down.
