Looking forward to the Bowles/Morton master gameplan of trying to run out the clock for the whole 2nd Half with 3 point lead.
if your keeping track at home, refs took 4 points off the board, mccown/play calling took away possible 3 more.
McNown is absolute dog shit on final drives or the 2 minute drill. He’s literally been that way all year. Would be nice to put in Petty for the 2nd half but they won’t.
Yup, they’ll be conservative as all can be with this massive 3 point lead but once Buffalo scores the inevitable TD, then they’ll try to open things up
Season is on the line, and you know your 4th Q sucks, and yet you play to be safe? WTF you've got to lose ?
That wasn't a bad way to end the drive/half. We are not a team that can go 40 yards in 30 seconds. We're just not. And if we try to do thay, Mccown forces throws and it leads to a turnover. You try the screen, it didn't work. Ok. It was the right call, it just didn't work. If you break that screen for a big gain you keep pushing. If not, just you into the half with a lead.
What would something dumb be? Throw an int deep down the field with 30 seconds left? Who would give a shit ? This coaching staff is conservative to a fault
My old man said fuck this and went to bed.... And said the score will be 21-10. I didnt want to take that bet.
thats playing scared, scared money never wins. buffalo had 1 time out, they could have took a deep shot on 1st come back to the screen on 2nd and then see where they were for 3rd.
Keep in mind that a win here is probably the difference between 6-10 and 5-11. This is a bad football team and not worth getting upset over. Let the Bills get to 10-6 and lose in the WC to Pittsburgh like Miami last year. Who cares?
And what happened when we didn't play scares against the Pats? Mccown threw an int, Pats drove the field for a td right before the half, and the whole game shifted. We have josh mccown as our QB. Robby Anderson and Kearse are our WR. We should be playing conservative in that spot. Again, you have to know who you are, and not try to be a team you are not. We are not a team that can drive long distances in very little time.
No. But the thing is, that's how they have played this whole season. McCown is going to do something stupid and/or throw a pick or take another bad sack. Problem is, you can almost bet that this staff is going to call such a conservative game plan for the remainder of the game that they Jets will be down 7 points (or less, if lucky) with maybe 2 minutes on the clock, and then they are going to force McCown into a position where all the Bills will do is tee off on him and the O-line. Further, obviously this is not the week with a short week, but if Bowles/Morton's are hamstrung in play calling because of a fear of bad decisions by McCown in crunch time, then McCown shouldn't be starting at all for the remainder of the season. Bad decisions are expected of guys like Petty/Hackenberg, given their limited experience. Playing in those situations is how one or the other is going to learn. If McCown after playing forever is still prone to those mistakes (and he is), then there's no sense for starting him after this week.
