yup I remember that also and was sold on Clemens, we had the steal of the draft, #1 QB etc etc ... between that and him saying Kaep could be the best QB of all time, his reputation ganders 0 weight
Plus 1 million Look at the Eagles and KC chiefs trafing up for Wentz and Mahones Those were gutsy moves that paid off ..Wentz immediately and Mahones down the road When will this board realize it's now or never this year especially with a good QB class..SMH
He had better imo Remember Idzik?? We could have had Jimmy G sitting in the Jets clubhouse...and he let him walk!!!! Now he became a hot commodity.. I think this kid wanted to get out there and play ..tired of waiting for Uncle Tom to hit the deck Belli was smart to get some value ..JG would be a free agent in a year
Isn't Andrew Luck returning to practice..? Don't give up the ship with 8 to play..Indy can win with him Also agree the Giants are due for a win streak
Explain how Mahones paid off please ? He has yet to do a single thing in the NFL, so as such remains an unknown quantity.
On the one hand, WTF were they smoking giving up a 2nd and a 3rd for McCarron (and if they were willing to pay that much why not make the same offer for Garoppolo)!? Not making the deal is probably a lucky break. On the other hand, holy fuck the Browns are the worst pro franchise on Earth.
Probably because McCarran isn't going to ask for 20m a season as well but yes they are the worst run team ever. It is like they conspire to fuck it up every season, how not to do a rebuild should have been studied by every potential GM past and present lol
If Mac does draft a QB early , resigning McCown to a one year deal would be ideal. Bowles is going to play the QB he believes will give the team the Best chance to win. Mac has to ensure that after a year, possibly 2, Bowles best option will be that draft pick by not having a veteran on the roster.
Cousins is 29. Not 31 and would likely be here 6,7,8 years. The draft is a crap shoot. If you can secure a top 10 QB in his prime, you do it. Giving up multiple premium picks to draft an unknown would set the rebuild back years.
Cousins is still 29 , not 31 and Washington has been trying to lock him up for 3 years. The tried to extend him in 15 , Franchised him in 16 and again in 17.
That was intentional. It shows the dysfunction of that organizations structure. GM was against the trade, Coach convinced ownership that Mccarron was the guy. GM never submitted the paperwork to the league. Instead sent it to the Bengals. Can't think of any other franchise where the Coach can go to owner and convince a trade against the GM..... Oh wait ,. The Jets have that same structure.......
I thought they had franchised him so they didn't have to pay him his big money, didn't they promise a big deal and then franchised him again ? Sure I read that tbh but hey I have been known to be wrong before
No. He turned down the big offer so they Franchised him. It's costing them $24 million for this season alone. If they franchise him again next season it will have cost them over $70 mill for 3 years.
