Sorry if I misunderstood/misinterpreted your response. Why should Mac have to ask his HC and OC about that. Their job is to develop players. All teams add young players via the draft and FA. Even the veterans on the team, or those added via FA or trades can probably be developed some as well. He probably rightfully assumed that they would do their jobs, and since he had no power over them, there was nothing he could do. If Gailey and Bowles said they were no good, he may have believe them, but I doubt it. If he had, he would have taken a QB in this draft and gotten rid of one of Hack/Petty. Since a team or a couple of teams inquired about trading for Petty during the offseason, I would think that Mac would have traded him and gotten what he could for him if that was the case. Since he didn't, it says to me that he believes in Petty. Under the current organizational set up, all Mac can do is do his job the best he can in terms of finding the best players that can help the team in the draft and FA and securing them, then give his perspective to the Johnson's on where he thinks Bowles & Co. are not following through and doing their jobs.
Agree about Cousins. Doesn't hurt us in any way and makes much more sense for a rebuilding team then trading away 3 first round picks. This roster has too many holes to give up the future. We have alot of FAs of our own to try to resign this off-season and hopefully Mac is all ready working on it. The Browns have the youngest roster in the league , followed by the Rams , Bengals , Texans then Colt's. We are 6th youngest but much better than 21st where we were last year.
He doesn’t know. But to hear from some, hack and petty we’re not even allowed near the facility while practice was going on. I heard they wouldn’t even get playbooks because Bowles did not want to develop them.
The section in red: Can you name any offensive minded HC we could have hired who would not coached to win this season ? The HC's job is to coach the team to win. Bowles is doing what any HC would be doing , offensive or Defensive minded , coaching to win.
Don't know why but your post made me think of that Tony Danza movie from the 80s where his daughter comes down the stairs in slow motion. Poor Todd can stand the thought of his babies developing...
Bowles "okay guys, at practice tomorrow we are going to work on skills development. Naturally, I'm gonna ask Hackenberg and Petty to stay at home"
Are you kidding me ? This seems particularly fucking stupid if not a little petty (excuse the pun) but mainly stupidity of the highest order, if this is true I am now joining the get the useless cunt out of our club club. Unbelievable and unforgivable.
you keep saying that bowles wont play the young qb but that is demonstrably false ... geno was the starter until he got punched in the face
youve stated several times that cousins is 31 and you know hes not and you say that youre done as jet fan every year
Well you got me..force of habit on both accounts. But that’s really all you got out of all my posts in this thread & felt the need to reply?? You don’t like my posts ignore or wait for me to really BE done w the team when they sign Cousins & we miss out on ANOTHER potential FQB solely to avoid taking any sort of risk for success
49ers just got hosed. Jimmy G will be the next Hoyer/Cassel. Belichick is what makes the QB's look good, and not the other way around. I'm pissed they got another 2nd rounder to work with next year.
We know bc Morton said so..he indicated both Petty & Hack were at rookie levels developmentally & I believe it was derived even further by an article that suggested Gailey put little to no effort into developing either.I don’t necessarily equate playing as being developed..there’s plenty of ways to help a young qb get better w.o actually getting in games..doesn’t seem like that occured
seems like a really good move by the Niners - when you look at what 2nd rounders have brought us in terms of quarterbacks: - Kellen Clemens - Geno Smith - Christian Hackenburg Would you rather than one of them or Jimmy G?
Kellen Clemens vs the Ravens, the one year he started man, thought Clemens was going to be the guy. Damn you justin mccareins
Rom jaworski really sold me on him. 1st round pick if he didn’t break his leg jaws said. I still haven’t forgiven him
