I hate to say it, but this week is a must win game if we want this team to have a shot at the postseason. We just witnessed two of the most jet like losses we will ever see. Do they bounce back at home? I would feel good about 4-4, but terrified of 3-5.
No chance at all. No matter how many points Grandpa puts up for us, Matty Ice will abuse Skrine and get them right back. I expect the Jets to show up, but they just don't have enough firepower to stay with the derty berds.
Please start Petty. If so, I would be excited. McCown's INT reminded me of Fitz in KC last year. Unforgivable and probably won't be the same after. Move to Petty now and see what the young gun has. @RobA says it is must win for the Jets, but it is even more so for the defending NFC Champion Falcons. They looked horrible tonight and pretty much most of the season. The Jets will have a chance. I am sick of McCown though. I don't like inconsistent QB's. He is so up and down it drives you nuts. He just shuts down. Can't be on for 60 minutes I guess. Shame because sometimes he looks great. Early prediction: 24-13 Falcons. As you can tell: Today was disappointing for me.
I see why you were voted most optimistic lol I want to be positive but the Postseason ??? I feel like Mora Sr saying "playoffs??" We beat Miami Browns and Jax ..puhleeese get real here Atlanta can score points ahead or behind...that's a tremendous edge Why are you terrified of 3-5 or 3-13 for tha.t matter.???? I will see a big smile on your face when Josh Rosen is our QB and big OL to protect him... And then the winning will start..
Unfortunately there is no way Petty starts. The die has been cast, and barring injury we’re not going to see him until after the bye week. You’re absolutely right that this game is far more important to the Falcons than to the Jets. They need to turn things around before the post-SB malaise becomes post-SB outright failure. I don’t see any way Ryan doesn’t completely torch the Jets.
We are getting a desperate Falcons team that's reeling a little bit. I hate to say it but I really don't think we're winning this one. Not only that but the Falcons can generate some serious pressure and I think the Jets o-line, although more solid than I anticipated, still lets on a bit of pressure. Julio Jones, Sanu, Gabriel, Freeman, Vic Beasley, Neal, a lot to handle when you have to rely on Buster Skrine for some help. Losing two weeks in a row while giving up big leads can change the course of the season, can change players and how they approach the season. Unfortunately, I don't see a win anytime soon
Devonta Freeman might catch 15 passes in the flat. He's one of the best in the game at it and everyone is picking on Lee in the flats anyway.
Their offense has severely regressed. They miss KS a TON...And good ole Sarkesian is clearly not the answer at OC....Jets do have a chance
Jets will have a good day at home and beat the Falcons. Bowles will have the team at 500 by the halfway mark of the season. Hopefully Petty is ready to be inserted as the starting quarterback by then. No sense riding McCown in the second half of the season. He's just a band aid at quarterback, and it's time to rip him off. We need answers about Petty with the starters. On another note Bowles needs to sit Anderson down for an entire game after that throwing his helmet temper tantrum. That cannot be tolerated at all, or you risk losing control of the team.
100% agree. Jets can beat these guys. Sarkisian's game plan sucked against the Pats last night (not complaining). And "Matty Ice" is... ...melting.
No need to sit Anderson for that. Just have a chat with him. I'm sure he was frustrated as was most of us and he did take it out in the wrong way but that's way too severe to sit him for. He cares, and I'd rather see the fire then him just shrugging himself at the result.
The battle of two inept head coaches. Can't wait. Bowles could have led the offensive juggernaut to blow a 28-3 lead in the 4th quarter. Blowing a 14 point lead in a regular season game is one thing, but blowing a 25 point lead in the 4th quarter is the all-time worst coaching blunder in the history of sports. All he had to do was run the clock out by running and snapping the ball with 1 second left on the play clock.
I would be utterly shocked if we won this game. A) We are coming off of two of the most brutal losses you will ever see. I mean, we have brutal losses every year. But, having them back to back like that . . . I just question whether this team will be able to respond. B) The Falcons are coming off of three straight losses (to everyone else in our division, no less). How jet like would it be to be the only team in the AFC East that loses to the Superbowl hangover team? Come on, you fellow longtime Jets fans know this. Search your feelings. You know it to be prophetic and true. C) Despite obviously not being anywhere near as good as people thought, the Falcons are still better than us.
I will say that this team would actually impress the heck out of me if they ever beat Atlanta after these past two weeks. I really think Bowles has a very tough coaching job ahead of him this week. Getting his team up after these past two losses, losses in which they came out blazing and controlled the early parts of both games, will be very, very challenging, IMO.
Falcons and Jets are both going to come hungry. Falcons have the obvious edge on paper. I think the Falcons win because the Jets talent just gives them with nearly no margin for error. Falcons have the raw talent to come back from a mistake with one long bomb to Julio Jones or to ice the game with their stacked secondary if they get ahead and force McCown into an errant throw. Jets haven't been able to put 4 consistently quarters of football together this season, even in their wins. They'll need to to beat the Falcons.
