There ya go. I just checked it out. Thanks. Looks like they're gonna be in pretty good shape looking at it superficially. I'm not that familiar with where our current guys stand but I'll keep an eye on that. But I suppose they're in a good spot to get a couple of good players, maybe several, depending how they play it.
I like Spotrac because it's a bit cleaner looking but it's essentially the same difference. Last time I checked they had us at about $55 million. But all in the same ballpark. Spotrac is a lot slower on phones btw. Either way, we have enough money to resign Ealy & ASJ and still add 2-3 starters. Unfortunately there are very few tackles available. The only really good pass rusher that I'd look into adding is Lawrence and he's leading the league in sacks, which will lead to a gigantic contract for him that we likely won't dish out. We should look to try to add a #1 receiver, some offensive line depth and maybe a mid-tier corner. Would also like to add an inside linebacker but there again is a shortage in good ones available. I have to believe we're going to roll with Lee for one more season unfortunately as well.
I like sportrac too. Was the $55 mil prior to the Richardson trade? Some good recievers available in Free Agency. I think we should try to grab NaVorro Bowman while he is available. I would not be surprised if he ends up in NE though.
Yeah, that one is pretty good. The obvious one to free some money is Forte. I guess they take a it, but they gain a good amount.
With Forte, Skrine and Mo, I think the space gets up around $90 mill but I seriously doubt they move on from Wilkerson. Either way , plenty of money , but the most important thing to keep in mind is that they don't have to spend it all. They can carry over alot if the Market isn't what is needed. Too many are buying into the 3 wins thinking this team is on the verge of contention. It's going to take another couple of off-seasons to build this roster properly.
Maybe Kearse? And a bunch of back end guys no doubt. Also, if I'm not mistaken, we're in pretty good shape for the draft, with extra 2nd rd. and 5th rd. picks. Mac has things he can work with to improve the team, depending on what path he wants to take. It's not like there's no maneuverability to really upgrade some more.
I hope we make the sound financial decision to move on from Mo. It will make me feel better about this regime knowing that they're not scared to admit their mistakes. We can save a good amount of money by cutting him as well. Bowman was released to go to a SB contender wasn't he? We're better than expected but I doubt that he'd want to come here.
It would be nice to see the organization make sound decisions. I think Mo is way over paid and has been a headache off the field since the beginning. Of course the Mo supporters are going to be all over this with how great a leader he is, he is a pro bowler, best D lineman in the league, he is playing hurt. Will bounce back next year... I don't know if Bowman was released to go to a SB contender. Thought there was some friction due to him wanting more reps and the coaching staff wanting to give him more rest. I could be mistaken , I usually am... Lol But thought that's what I heard last night as the reason for the release.
Seeing? Well if you were watching 5 minutes ago, you'd see Darnold finishing a 98 yard scoring drive (though I'll admit he hasn't been on target on a number of throws tonight). You like Louisville? ....losers of 6 of their last 10 games?
You guys may be onto something regarding Mo and using the money to set the team up better in the long run. In the now I think he's prolly hurt and want him to turn it around asap to help the team. And still think he can IF he can get relatively healthy. But realize he's not immune to having let up slightly after the big payday. But, he did have a broken leg and he did leave it on the field when it happened. I'll add that when this all was coming, paying the DLinemen, I said Mo was overrated by fans, and Snacks underrated. And Sheldon was also being overrated. and got into several 'debates' over it, lol. I don't really have a point, just sayin' In the end the DL has never lived up to what it was supposed to be going back to when we had them all including Coples. Right now Mo and Leo are basically two gap DLinemen. It remains to be seen how Mac and Bowles go forward. Maybe Mo restructures if they still wanna keep him for what they wanna do defensively?
Fumble recovery Jets!!! Right after my 1st post about his 1st defensive drive (above) right after, during our 2nd Defensive drive, the kid from OSU he worked hard & faught like a DOG to get in position to cause a fumble this kid's winning me over 2nd year pup.
No but nobody on the list is a huge loss though. he actually wasn't playing very well with the rams. he got beat and burned alot. he just got a lot of picks. hi sucess with the giants is more of a surprise then a guarantee.
The kid is starting to make plays. Showing flashes. During our 1st two defensive drives Lee made impact plays against N.E and a reason why we came out guns blazing. As stated he's a 2nd year player making some plays but yet being treated as if he's Vernon Gholston 2.0. Shit. Darron Lee is showing up on the box score and passing the eye test more than the likes of Wilkerson and Williams. May not be saying much but a young developing 2nd year Lee is not the problem; his underachieving defensive line playing in front of him... is the problem.
Jets Total Defense Ranking: 32. NEW YORK JETS BEST-GRADED STARTER: Kony Ealy, Edge, 82.4 WORST-GRADED: Darron Lee, LB, 31.9 When the team’s best player is struggling (Leonard Williams), you know things are not going well. Williams and Wilkerson have turned what should have been the team’s strength into a weakness, with their front unable to stand up to teams in the run or pass game. There has been some talent in the secondary, but the front seven hasn’t been able to protect them nearly enough. We have so many posters in this thread stroking Darron Lee? Meanwhile, in point of objective FACT he is the above...........
He also played like crappola against the patsies. He got torched on a few big plays and even the one where PI was called on Gronkowski, LEE was to blame. Minnie Mouse never turned his head to look for the ball. He simply waived his arms in Gronk's eyes. That is textbook PASS INTERFERENCE. Now, I suppose it was a good thing that we got the call to go in our direction. But that still doesn't Lee is starting to make plays??????? I see a little twerp that doesn't cut it, pure and simple...........
If you're going to pretend a number from PFF is fact then I think we're done here. There are a lot of things from PFF I could throw at you that you'd deny until you're blue in the face.
