I know that. I was just venting and used your quote, lol. Sorry, didn't mean it to come across that I was targeting you. We'll all have to wait and see how this plays out. It's gonna take time, one way or the other. It will get worse again before it gets better either way too. A couple of losses and shit will hit the fan.
No problem I figured you weren't. Even though my head tells me it won't happen, I really hope our record isn't a mirage and we'll beat the Pats and make the playoffs.
Understood. To me that hope has so much uncertainty, but If we loose a hard fight due to inexperience, week in and week out, I would not be upset, because I can see a future for these youngsters. Sbove all I want this team to become a perennial winner as bad as anyone and real soon, hopefully while Im still on this earth, and with a young up and coming FQB behind center. But, equally important, in my heart, there is nothing sweeter than beating the Pats and BB. Long shot I know, but priceless.
Todd Bowles hiring Morton and Green seems to be a stroke of genius..for that I will credit him big credit Take away the new Coaches and you have same old Bowles and SOJs Sorry don't trust the Toddie man
Bowles, I think made one of his best coaching decisions and that was before the half. Very aggressive game plan led to 3 points at the half. There was about 30 to 40 seconds left. Last week he faked a punt.
I was going to post this as well, I'm not a fan of Bowles but I will give him credit when he deserves it, he normally goes into a shell right before half and is content with the situation as is, but he decided to play for points which I thought was an excellent move. They called good plays and players showed great situational awareness. The FG was a thing of beauty, I think it could have gone 60 yards.
The change in aggressiveness reminds me of Ron Rivera when he started to really show qualities of a good coach. It's been a rollercoaster ride for me in terms of Bowles. This season, I have been impressed so far. TC, I was really questioning if he was improving, right now that question has been answered.
Still think that Bowles has made horrific in game time management decisions and lacks some awareness regarding in game situations. But, the team has won 3 straight so some credit has to be given to him. I still think a lot is left to be seen because Jets have to play the way they have versus better competition.
I was stuck watching the Titans/Dolphins game yesterday. Those teams were awful. Cassel looked like what I had expected McCown to look like before the season started--completed almost every pass, and had almost no yardage to show for it. Cutler not only showed an inability to complete a pass, but for the first time I can remember, managed to get a delay of game penalty while still in the huddle. It gave me a new appreciation for what Bowles is doing with this group. That said, there's still a ton of room for improvement.
He's never been given the opportunity to develop a young passer, a legit one anyway. He's overachieved with 2 mediocre QBs with Fitz and now McCown so IF ANYTHING i give him the benefit of the doubt when we actually get talent in here. But thats just me and i don't want Cousins its screams red flags that Washington doesn't even want him and now without those same pieces last year he doesn't look any better.
I can't agree with this. The whole team look better prepared and organized. Morton's doing a great job for sure, but you can't ignore the way the rest of the team has improved as well. We'll see how much of this is green cool aid on the back of 3 wins this weekend though.
I dont think anyone has any solid ground to complain about bowels. Hes done a very good job and so has the rest of the coaching staff. Rarely are guys just flat out of position. Gone are the miscommunications that plagued all of last season. They're rare, thats because they gotnguys buying in. Theyre playing beyond their talent level if you ask me. The biggest reason the defense struggles against the run, Lee and wilk. But who's gonna take their spots right now? I'll honestly be suprised if we see Lee Starting next season. If Bowles out coaches Bellicheat next Sunday, then I'll be a believer, but we literally just barely skated by the worst team in the league, whose decisions made it seem like they wanted to lose. There is hope with no Gronk or Edelman, but for all intents and purposes that game will not be close. The Jets defense will have to play lights out and the offense will have to score more than 23 to win this. It could happen considering how the Pats have looked lately, but I'm not banking on it. The way I see it, the Jets are overachieving a little bit so far. If they finish with a .500 record this year, they will have way over achieved, and Bowles should get an extension immediately. That would be an amazing feat against this schedule with this personnel. Not saying it can't happen, but I still see 6 wins at best.
No two games are ever the same. Doesn't matter they just got by the Browns. They got by them. No two games are ever the same.
That's right. Notice that the naysayers when using game comparisons to prove that we suck didn't mention the Jaguars going into to Pittsburgh for a dominant win? I suppose when you know already we suck and that the Coach sucks you can rationalize that.
Not that I think it will be enough, but I have a feeling the Jets will play their best game on Sunday so far this season. Dominant? No... Competitive? Probably for 2 qtrs or perhaps even into the 3rd. Brady has a uncanny way of winning in the 4th qtr against the Jets and that's where I think this game will be decided. I'm not a Patriot hater as they've been the class of the league for almost a decade now. You can't attribute all of that to cheating either. The Patriots are where one day before I die, I'd like to see the Jets be. Dominant instead of Mediocre. At least I can say I've seen a Jets Super Bowl so I'm good..
