You know what the funny thing here is. If this had been Vinny or we started Ramsey because Chad wasn?t ready yet, people would be screaming for a change .Why? We would expect this kind of problems from Vinny or Ramsey because we know their M.O. I guess we all expect good things to come from Chad and this continual downward slide is so unlike him, we either chalk it up to; not the payer he once was or some things not right with this guy. I blame Chad; He?s the leader and the balls in his hand period! I used to play high school ball and didn?t have the arm strength to fire that ball in there and my 40 yard passes looked like rainbow bright had come to town. I watch Chad and it?s like looking in the mirror. I got benched and replaced and so should he.

i knew it it came down to some personal thing; just because you got benched you've given up on Chad. it's all coming to light now.

    cheers

His arm was always like that, he didn't get benched in high school or college either....so I think there might be other reasons you got benched besides having arm strength like Chad's (which you probably still fall short of anywyas). Let's get real and not compare high school football to the NFL.

It's kinda doubtful that he has less arm strength, you can find a lot of HS QBs with better arm strength than Chad. Accuracy and football knowledge are a whole different matter. In HS though, you don't really get called on to pass that often, even in college it's mostly running and pretty easy passes. Nobody really covers that well except in the NFL. I'm sure Chad's arm was enough for HS, and with Randy Moss in college he didn't really have to work too hard. Now though, he's kind of exposed, since the level of competition is higher. Still, it's not like the other NFL QBs had accuracy problems in HS or college either. Just because the problem isn't there at the lower levels doesn't mean it's not a problem at the NFL level.

ih you try to play qb in the nfl, and you don't have velocity, then you lose accuracy, exactly what makes you think you are going to win?

what makes houston, who beat the jags team that obliterated the jets, any more of a gimme win than buffalo, miami, cleveland or minny? :shit:

Well if it is really a problem, one worthy of him losing his starting spot, he'd have lost it by now. I cannot imagine that it is a coincidence that the coaches he has had have all made the same wrong decision to start Chad Pennington instead of someone else, or not to look elsewhere for fervently. The guy is an NFL starter by ability, not by default...and when he threw for over 300 twice in a row, he was not being bashed in this manner. When he throws a couple TDs next Sunday, he'll again be praised. He didn't show up yesterday, but thats as far as it goes. We could make the same case for alot for QBs in the league being unworthy of starting if we want to, because even the "elite" guys have had crap games this season, some have had multiple.

well losman made a lot of mistakes when we played at the bills. yesterday, he threw two very long passes way downfield on a rope. the kind of passes chad is unable to throw. he threw another pass into triple coverage like a laser beam and got a completion. compared to the urlacher pick, it was night and day.

that's why other qbs can have a stinko game but bounce back against a decent team. chad does not have the arm/velocity on his passes. when you pressure him, and he loses accuracy, then he has nothing.

there are no more bye weeks for him to rest his arm- don't let the pats game fool you.:eek:hmy:

Where were all you people after the Pats game? Everyone keeps bringing up that Chad hasn't played good for a month now yet noone was here after our wins, especially New England. If you are going to criticize Pennington after losses don't run and hide after wins. Show up and face the fact that you were wrong. Sometimes QB's have bad games and that is what is happening this year. He has another arm strength to win games for us and that is all that matters.

    Yeah, that doesn't mean anything.

The Texans simply match up well against the Jaguars. They've beaten them six out of 10 times.

By your logic the Jets should have pounded the Bears because the Dolphins beat the Bears and the Jets beat the Dolphins.

even you would have to admit both the cleveland game and the bears game were winnable. put frye on our team, and we beat the browns. put grossman on our team, and we beat the bears. those were two losses directly the fault of the qb. you can't win a game with a qb getting 21.1 and 42.8 ratings.

you saw the same game i did- when will the excuses for ducky stop?:eek:hmy:

I don't want the guy to be the QB of the Jets in 2007. But he's the best option on the roster right now.

I don't know where I personally made any excuses for Pennington.

By the way, you actually can win a game with a QB having a horrible rating. The Bears did so last month in a game where Grossman had a 10.2 rating.

when he stops winning.. throughout pennington's career he has been a winning QB and you can't ignore that... every QB has bad games

About 40 of your last 50 posts ALWAYS mention these two numbers. We know they're bad, but how many times do you repeat yourself?

how do we know he's the best option on the roster right now?

how did we know what they could do when herm was the head coach and we had cotch, houston, and baker not playing?

if you don't play anyone else at qb, how can you know? didn't the steelers win the super bowl with a 2nd year qb? with the way our o-line is pass-protecting, how do you know ramsey, smith, or clemens can't play?
pretty hard to do worse than a 21.1 and 42.8 rating? :eek:hmy:
