I also lost my fantasy game because of that utter nonsense of a final touchdown by Justin Houston. God damn prick. I bet a lot of people lost a lot of money on that final touchdown if they took the 'Skins to cover that +7 (which I totally would've taken). Chiefs win the game by 9.
Man this game must've been a snowflakes nightmare Cousins is gutsy. He's sometimes overly emotional and fiery it seems. But that was a perfect throw that should've been hauled in for 6 instead they settled for the FG.
I got killed a while back for suggesting we go after cousins. If we can sign him we absolutely should.
I like the way Cousins plays, and like the way the players respond to him. He may never be a superstar, but he's accurate and a great leader. Give him protection and a defense, and a team can win with him for sure. It would cost a boatload tho...
Lucky for us we have a boatload,. Imagine the flexibility of having a qb and a top pick. We could be set to take over the division as Brady is ages out.
Cousins + Barkley or LT + C or LT if we go Barkley and add a couple mid round pass rushers. Sign a receiver. So what if you give Cousins $100 milly over 5 years. That's the going rate for quarterbacks. Anyone whose anyone is in or near that $20 million range.
How dare you think outside the box with a vision towards the future. Everybody knows Cousins isn't Joe Montana! And what about the Tank Job?! Lol He's making $23 this year. He may end up in Washington even in a bidding war. But he's got several good years left and he's in his prime now. Guys like him and Alex Smith are gold at this point.
Russell Wilson's contract sounds good to me for Cousins. $87.6 million over 4 years. $21.9 million per year on average. Wilson has been to two Super Bowls. Washington has handled Cousins horribly. But I'm sure he's more than OK if they want to continue to franchise him. The money is fully guaranteed and while he may not have long term security I doubt he's complaining making the average of the top 5 quarterbacks + added money every year he's franchised.
The last couple of QB contracts were $25-$27M a year, I don't think there is any way you get Cousins at $20M a year. He's not signing a contract that makes him the 10th highest paid. Unless of course you fully guarantee it, then it's a possibility.
Would hand Cousins a blank check..... Have you seen the shit we have been working with since Joe Willy?
Cousins Enunwa Kearse Barkley ASJ Plus any of the youngsters that may develope and 2 second round picks Make it happen mac
Gotta get creative with the contract. Easier said than done when we're talking about being in a bidding war as well though. We will most certainly not see a quarterback in their prime with this nucleus of players hit free agency. Might not see another one for 10 or so years. Peyton was the last one and that will be what six years ago by the time Kirk hits FA? He was also a special case of a player that 1) could choose among 6-8 teams that would gladly take him, some who would toss their starter away to sign him 2) this would be his last team and contract.
I don't want to get ahead of myself and *knock on wood* I think Maye may have broken the 2nd round curse. The one to me LEAST likely to achieve this feat
Until you just ruined it through message board jinx and he ends up with a torn Achilles on Sunday. Wtg dude.
Nah man, told ya I knocked on wood and I also burned some sage in the house for good fortune while I made the post.
