Great win by the Jets. Should have been 27-10 at that one moment but the Jets blew it with some honest bad luck. That's life. I was impressed with the Defense holding to force OT. Jacksonville clearly was terrible today, but the Jets still deserve credit. They were the better team. They are now (2-2) and head to Cleveland to play the (0-4) Browns. Could the "Suck For Sam" "Tanking" Jets really be over .500 in October? We will see.
Eric Tomlinson is in serious need of a haircut. Why does his Mom let him walk around like that? Yeccch, terrible.
+1 I really thought that Bowles would change up against Jax, and might be better able to mix things up as the roster evolves. The LB's might be coming around as a group. I was getting worried about Lee too, but he looked like he was competing and not thinking, finally. Maye showed up. He could've had an INT, and was right in the mix
Lee hit a couple of guys in the hole today that looked real good. I mean, like a MLB is supposed to hit. This was the first time I'd seen him IN IT the whole game. It was a nice change.
It looked clear to me on every replay Telvin Smith touched him and possibly also Calais Campbell. How was that call not overturned?
Same thing pretty much. Speaking of which, where did this dude come from? Is there a way to see statistics on the amount of snaps a player like him played? If he's playing a lot of snaps on running downs, he could certainly be one of the reasons we're improved at running the ball. Blocking tightends go a long way in running the ball effectively. Anthony Becht was a third tackle out there. Haven't had a good blocking tightend like him since he left really. Kellen Davis was supposed to be that guy but every time I saw him come across the formation to do those kickoff blocks he whiffed. https://www.google.com/amp/amp.usatoday.com/story/104896174/
Just got back- what a game-crowd was electric! I was expecting to lose that game after the McCown Int- but this team surprised me. On to Cleveland!
http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=20884249 http://es.pn/2xIiE8s Use your finger to slow down the video. Calais Campbell definitely did not touch him as Powell swam his arm away from Campbell. Clean hurdle over Telvin Smith as well. He was untouched.
He was handcuffed in the draft by injury and drafted much lower than his talent. That's what I meant.
No it didn't. A few bad plays by the Jaguars helped your team win. You had to fight for over 69 minutes to win it. However, the length was a fluke.
I mean we did outgain you 471 to 311. You can take away the flukey run by Powell if you also take away the flukey backwards pass returned for a touchdown. The Jets outplayed the Jags today. We also destroyed ourselves with penalties. Ironically you guys essentially lost the game on a penalty.
A few bad plays by the Jets let your team back in it, and they still won. Shoulda been in regulation time.
He had a solid game but both Powell & Elijah had better one's. I'll tell you what. Leonard Fournette was the player i gushed over heading into the draft but I'm now happy Jamal Adams fell into our laps rather than Fournette. A HB can only do so much (see Barry/A.P etc) but this Adams kid is going to be a generational Safety & lead this defense for a long time. With Fournette's style of run i can't imagine his shelf life lasting too long.
It was 20-10, Jets had the ball 1st and 10 at the Jax 14 yard line. Most fans would think their team should score a TD in that situation which would have made it 27-10. Odds makers would have put an offensive TD as a much more likely outcome than a lateral, off the RB's shoulder pads, returned 81 yards for a defensive TD. Getting bent out of shape that your team didn't take advantage of Jets errors is causing you to not think clearly.
