What if Brisset keeps playing well? Maybe drafting a QB isn't as neccesary as we all thought. Go O-line in the draft, grab Brisset and build around them on O as we build around Adams, Maye and Big Cat on D.
If we win 5+ games, which is a fair assessment, given the current level of performance and the schedule, we will not be in the top 4 for draft picks. This season will then be about seeing if Petty or Hack can cut it, and if not, Macc has work to do
Yep..something to consider perhaps When Idzik passed on Jimmie Garappolo I winced because he was a kid with a future Brisset is a younger QB as well If we go that route the QB has to be young and upcoming like they are
Going forward we are looking at the likes of NE Atlanta Buffalo TB Carolina KC Denver New Orl La Charg and NE again We can beat Miami and The Browns for sure ..that's 4 wins Beating one of those 10 other teams is reaching the stratosphere imo...maybe Buffalo and at that point I would rather lose to get a high draft pick Sorry I am off the miracle wagon as far as Hack/Petty concerned
Cmon dude. Show me the posts for you or anyone calling for us to draft Jimmy Garoppolo.. Derek Carr and Teddy Bridgewater? Yes. Everyone wanted us to take a chance on them. I can't remember any talks of targeting Garoppolo. I'll look back in the draft forum and see what I find.
Correct ...I was in the minority...but so was BB who snatched him up Tell me you wouldn't be happy with Jimmie or Brisset on our bench right now?
Holy Eardrums Batman did I just read a post that you turn down the services of one Tom Brady? Hey I hate the Pats too but .......
I think Garoppolo is more than a typical NE backup QB. If the Pats didn't think he was different, they would have traded him by now.
Force turnovers. Limit mistakes. Move the ball. Play good defense. You do that and I don't care what those $#@!!@#! over at PFF say. They all hate us anyway!
The idea I'm getting is that we will never get a FQB and will always dwell somewhere between 5-11 and 10-6. Sign me up for that!
The jets are gonna do what they always do...be just good enough to miss out on a top 5 pick. Given our ineptitude in drafting offensive players Im not sure why anyone gives a fuck about the draft
Sadly, you are probably right. Macc would find a way to fck it up. Probably wouldn't draft a QB in the first round anyway no matter who was available. Playing our way out of the top 5 actually works FOR Macc as it buys Hacc another year to become "The FQB of the NYJ's". win/win for Macc
Well, other teams need a FQB along with a surrounding cast to play for the VLT. The Jets only need defense and a old Jag Vet QB on his way out of the league to play for mediocre. We will rule the middle! Aim Low!!
YOU wake up Patricia. This team has beaten two teams picking in the top 5 next spring. If they beat the Patsies in a couple weeks, then we'll talk. ....
I'm a firm believer that having a roster that isn't loaded with losers is better than being guaranteed the first pick in the draft. All the best teams in the NFL rarely, if ever, even sniff a top 5 pick. At the end of the day, if there is someone at 1 that the Jets really really want, then they need to grow a pair, put on their big boy pants and move some assets to trade up to the first pick. Otherwise, I'd prefer the team not be content with being losers. Not having a ton of talent is hard enough. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Trading up has nothing to do with putting their "big boy" pants on. A lot of teams need a QB. If they're in position to get one, they're not gonna trade down with the Jets. Besides, we don't really have many assets, and it makes little sense to trade what few assets we do have to move up, and then have no team around that QB if we're even able to trade up.
