I like the way he throws the ball. I wonder if it's just a matter of getting him more weapons and not asking him to do too much. Alex Smith 2.0
That right there is precisely why Glennon isn't successful. He threw a nice ball into triple coverage, when he had a wide open receiver down the far sideline.
I think the safety came over after the ball was thrown and made it look like receiver was open down the sideline. They had a lot of deep help on that play.
I was thinking that as I posted it. Still wouldn't have been into triple coverage though. Packers are down to their fullback and a rookie runningback now with Montgomery officially out and Williams getting checked out on the bench. They were banged up coming into this game after that slugfest vs. the Bengals. Even more the reason that they need to either get rid of these Thursday night games or ensure that teams have a bye week before these games.
I love football but it's not special anymore, I looked forward to Sunday's because there was nothing but college football on Saturday. Now it's on all the time, catch a couple of quarters of a game and get my fix. Only games I watch start to finish are jets.
Could be part of the reason the ratings are down. Not to mention all of the discussion that goes on during the week and the daily fantasy alerts and what not. Also factor in that with London games you can literally watch football from 9:30 AM-11:30 PM on Sundays with only a slight gap of no game action from about 7:30/7:45PM-8:30PM in between the 4 o'clock games and the night game. They've really watered down the league. And this goon Goodell wants to add games on more days of the week. And more regular season games. Smdh.
That Interception should not have happened, receiver was wide open and he overthrew it by 5 feet. I bet Mitchell will be starting by week 6.
From what I hear the fans in Chicago have been vocal about wanting Glennon out and Trubisky in, even though Glennon hasn't been horrible. After tonight that will only increase. I wouldn't be surprised if Trubisky is in within a week or two.
Like I said earlier he throws a nice ball, but he's too inconsistent. He's too streaky, good and bad.
Might not be a great idea to play him this year. Their receiving targets are easily worse than ours in 2013. That's saying a lot considering our corps fell apart when Jeremy Kerley got hurt. Santonio Holmes didn't give a shit that year and David Nelson was probably our most consistent target for Geno. I hate hearing sensitivity associated with young quarterbacks and having their confidence broken. But it's really true. Some guys can't ever recover from having a subpar offense early on in their careers. Tim Couch sort of comes to mind. David Carr as well. At least Bortles had some good young targets when he was tossed in there. Also. Don't just toss guys in there in the middle of a blow out. That's a shitty way to get them their first game action as top picks.
Romo is now 2/2 on the drive calling out what Rodgers will do/playcall. I know it's not the Packer way to sign free agents as they only have 3 starters on the team that they did not draft. But I wonder if they would ever think about going out and getting a big time rusher. Thinking about Corey Dillon and what he did for the Pats in 04. Wow. Scary. Davante Adams just got absolutely destroyed. Wrapped up with forward progress stopped and Trevathan just launched himself at Adams helmet to helmet. Helmet and mouthpiece just went flying. Trevathan should be tossed honestly.
