Why is this anti American demonstration of free speech allowed by the NFL before each game but when the Cowboys wanted to wear decals honoring the cops that were killed in Dallas by a BLM supporter it was forbidden ? Answer: Goodell is a left wing ideologue
You're one of the stupidest people I've ever encountered on the Internet which is really saying something. You couldn't be a police for 5 minutes. Yeah they're all in it for the power and of course to oppress black people. Liberalism is truly a dangerous mental disorder
Yes they do. But being in higher regard,or all the training in the world can't train to react perfectly in split second decisions where it could mean your life. There are bad cops, poorly trained cops ,sure. But there is also a popular culture that loves violence, drug dealing , flashing gUns, writing music about it and recruiting more of the same. It's a double edged sword; and the way I see it, I don't see either side taking responsibility in the instances they should.
The only other possible answers would be (a) the owners told him to let the kneeling go unpunished, or (b) he's panicked that a team will pull a Univ of Missouri and refuse to play an entire game. Anyone who's ever been a manager knows you don't let the inmates run the asylum under any circumstances, but this guy makes $30 mil/yr, so that makes him a genius that can ignore basic business principles. ... or he's a left win ideologue.
Why are you so blind and deaf to not realize that "anti American" and "free speech" cannot appear in the same argument? Do you not realize that perhaps the most anti American thing one can do is deny free speech? People have fought and died, not for a piece of cloth or a dramatic song, but for the principles upon which this country was founded - free speech being key among them. And don't bother adding your typical childish name calling to any response you may choose to make; it does nothing to bolster your argument but weakens that which is already lacking.
But you don't have free speech at work. Free speech is what you have on your own free time, not where employed. At work you work under the conditions of your employer
I don't see the employer of any NFL player precluding them from these demonstrations. To the contrary, I see employers linking arms with their employees. You must also understand that the employees in this instance have a union and a contract that does not appear to forbid these actions. It was not my intent to rehash that which has been beaten to death here but to point out the contradiction by the poster in equating free speech and anti American in his statement.
What about Tim tebow? Did free speech not apply to that knee. How about the cowboys not being able to wear a sticker for fallen police .
http://www.totalprosports.com/2017/...fluence-cowboys-to-not-protest-during-anthem/ lmao if true. Trump: "Please Mr. Jones, no one respects me, no one likes me, no one values my opinion. I'll give you $$$ I swear, just please stand by me" Jones:
This is how the left thinks and operates...undermine America and the constitution at every turn unless there's an issue that promotes their sick worldview. Then in that case, cite the constitution and accuse anyone who disagrees of being anti-American and a "provocateur"
I wonder what would happen if they started imposing fines for those that kneel during the National Anthem. I could certainly see a gigantic mutiny taking place by the players, although it would be bullshit as that is their employer. But that's all speculation. It's really easy to get players to stop kneeling though. Fine them. They'll stop instantly. Can NFL teams individually impose fines? Or would it have to be a league wide rule/movement?
$$$$ they are in a tough spot. I don't think they will force it to stop.... but I'll bet you will see the protests start to change in some more please everyone way.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...d-for-national-anthem/?utm_term=.5643ded651e3 Let's be serious. The NFL at some point will want to put an end to kneeling and focus the matter elsewhere.
Nah, the NFL won't come out and prohibit it, what they are doing now,by hijacking it and watering it down to the point where it is no longer about what kaep started it for, will effectively end its controversial status and everyone will find something else to argue about. It was losing strength naturally until trump revved it back up. Right in the middle of a bunch of natural disasters that always seem to draw people together. Not a coincidence
I think you are right they will water it down, but I also feel the "prohibiting part" is in question with an owner like Jerry Jones. With Jerry Jones and his influence, he probably takes a few more owners with him, or does he stand alone? Woody would've been included but his brother is now technically the owner and seems to have a different outlook. The real question is, will Trump let it go, and let the NFL take care of his mess? Sounds more likely, he will send out another tweet, saying, "I won"
