Why is everyone is so eager to trade away the Jets' shitty players so the Jets can make more shitty draft picks? Is this some sort of riddle?
Because we don't know they are shitty straight away. Hope springs eternal. Trade deadline day is always a disappointment, I'm not expecting any business.
I could see a team being interested in Darron Lee. I think they figure out the correct way to use him. Right now he isn't a fit for T Bowles defense.
Just for a laugh I entered a FF league with defensive players to pick, here is the latest on Darren Lee... "Lee had 10 tackles, including one sack, during Sunday's loss to the Bills. Analysis: The Jets struggled stopping the Bills' rushing attack at the goal line, which opened up plenty of tackle opportunities for Lee and Demario Davis, who finished with 14 tackles of his own. With the situation likely to repeat itself often this season, Lee could be a solid source of tackles in IDP leagues." 17.5 points so far lol
That's why stats - in any sport - are so misleading. As Mark Twain said: "There are three kinds of lies: Lies; damnable lies; and statistics".
Can't argue...which is why I would rather we just get rid of both Bowles and Macc. Don't really see much sense in keeping one over the other, when both haven't done great and both came in together
He could be a good pickup. Tackles 10 yard down the field still count as tackles. He's going to be a beast at tackling guys after they run past him because he has good recovery speed.
Spot on. There's not much to trade and trades rarely happen. I would float Forte out there though. Maybe a playoff team could be looking for some runningback depth. He's not great anymore but he looked decent vs. Oakland and can pass protect at the very least.
You got to have talent to be sellers. Maybe they can unload Kearse for another 2nd or a 3rd. Winters I would trade and drive to the airport. Lee I would unload for cab fare and Hackenberg should just be cut. I would draft two QB next year. One of course in the top 3 and then another one in the 3rd or 4th round. Let them develop and see which one is the man. If both are good you can always unload the other for picks or players. The Jets have been so horrible at drafting any offense its time to build it up.
I'll take a sixth or seventh round pick honestly. Why not? He has no value to us this year. Unless he'll qualify us for a compensatory pick, which I doubt. But maybe he does and that's the reason he's playing.
I like the idea of taking two quarterbacks, but someone else made a good point that we have too many holes to be burning up draft picks on two quarterbacks. I forget who it was. Then again, we won't get anywhere without a quarterback. And drafting the second one will push the first round to perform without just simply knowing the job is his because of where he was drafted. I would also keep Kearse and Winters. We are not deep at either positions and need all the help we can get there. Kearse is a solid #2/3 and Winters just got a new contract.
Unless the Jets don't plan on re-signing Petty, they can't draft two QBs or they'll have 4 QBs. Chances are that if they don't re-sign Petty, they won't have anyone ready or capable of starting next year, unless the 1st rounder can.
i would think they keep petty and let the other two go. trading away guys at the deadline even for 5th, 6th, or 7th round picks, like forte , is ok because the more picks you have in every round, the better chance you have to hit on something. if i remember correctly, the pats had 2 or 3 picks in the 6th round when they hit gold on brady. we could always get lucky strictly by random chance.
