It isn't a coincidence when a team is repeatedly lacking in the fundamentals - it's bad coaching, pure and simple.
of course not Alternative is continued nightmare BUT at least you have a QB to build around..draft OL, get better coaching, HC etc going forward
For a second there, I thought the Jets were going to blow tanking. But finally a 3 and out and a fumbled punt return sealing the first half. Also, Skrine is a garbage cornerback.
Why can't they just have Kerley return punts? At least he'll CATCH THE DAMN BALL even if he was stupid enough to try to catch it.
I see Bowles and all I see in my mind's eye is Tardy the Turtle... Though, Tardy might make a better NFL Head Coach.
No but at least the season will hopefully lead to a new coach, which would help. Maybe a new GM too if none of Macc's draft picks start panning out.
Watching some Dolphins & Chargers during halftime. Cutler looks like fucking Montana compared to what we have. I dunno how long it's gonna be till we see a QB at his level in Jets green. What sucks even more is that Cutler isn't anything special himself (compared to good QB)
Loses the ball in the sun and tries the field the punt that close to his end zone. Really pisses me off that Bowles is gonna keep him on the field on next special teams play.
First half analysis: Our rookie safeties are playing well, at least. Only reason we haven't gotten utterly shredded by Raiders' play-action threat. Our CBs are obviously going to lose any talent battle with Oakland's receiving corps. (And will continue to.) DL is disappointing compared to their paper talent but the Raiders OL is top 3 in the league and regularly manhandle people. Still, we're losing the battle in the LB group - just can't handle the run/pass balance combined with Lynch behind that OL. If we had some legit speed rush threatening Carr or a stud do-it-all MLB who could shed these blocks we could drop some of the dimensionality of the Raiders' offense and react, but the talent just isn't there. Our offense is basically only functioning due to Raiders' penalties (some of which we got handed) and if they stop shooting themselves in the foot we're gonna stop being able to drive at all. OL has minimal push and our RBs can't gouge the Raiders for the occasional holes they *do* manage to create - and don't have the power to regularly grind out yards on their own, power-back style. I like us trying to establish the run but we might need to spread the field horizontally to try and hit the raiders in their weakest group (CBs). Mix in some nasty quick slants with the play-action?
Play like a Jet. No reason to field that ball, especially with the sun is in your eyes. At least bobble it the f out of bounds. Oh, well, young and hungry . . . and dumb.
