I think that speaks to how poor the Memphis "D" is. How could you even bite for a split second on a fake handoff?

That's another absolutely terrible one. In game tying field goal range too.

Another bad decision by Rosen. No excuse for that really. Still, he's my guy.

What a stupid play! Only in college ball do you see this. I like a gamble, but this was just stupid!

Oh Jesus. That was another horrible one.

I can definitely see the Eli Manning comparisons.

The emotions on both sides are sky high. It would be impossible to not get caught up in it.

I can't believe the announcer just said "What a great defensive game Memphis has called". Sure, some good calls, especially down the stretch, but "great"? Not so much.

He's definitely getting caught up in it, but you can't blame him when he's a one man band trying to constantly rally his entire team by himself.

He played a bit of hero ball today in trying to make some amazing throws. He still played well and this could be a good learning moment for him.

If he's as smart as they say, he should learn from this. In fact, I think a guy who has to play in adversity, and not surrounded with talent, si a better bet.

Ugly game from Rosen. 4 td's 2 int's with 400+ yards. The team around him isn't great but he needs to do better when he's being pressed. In the NFL that Texas A&M comeback doesn't happen. He probably feels the pressure where he needs to make an insane play to get his team a win but that's not always the best approach. All the tools are there he just needs to get smarter with the ball and stop panicking when the rush is near him.

He also needs to learn how to slide and also needs to learn to throw the ball away when nothing is there.

I personally think he's the most pro ready QB of the crop but that decision making under pressure is going to scare some people

I think it can improve though. The good thing is that he feels the rush which is a largely unteachable skill. You're right though in that he has that "Put the team on my back doooe" Superman approach. I think some of that would be different if he had more confidence in his teammates.

You're also definitely right in needing to throw the ball away and live to fight another down.

Feeling the rush is good what you do after you feel the rush is what will make or break him at the next level. He takes snaps under center, throws a tight spiral, goes through his progressions, is a cocky son of a gun, which is needed in the NFL and even more so in New York. But he cannot continue throwing picks like he's done. His team could easily be 1-2 instead of 2-1 if Texas A&M defenders would have just held on to the ball. I think he panics really quickly and really it's only that part of his game which scares me at the next level.

If he can learn to calm down and take the game 1 snap at a time i think he can be really good. At the next level, I expect whatever team that drafts him, to really hammer at being more patient with the ball.

Definitely. I think that's partly because he thinks he has to do it all because of the shitty team surrounding him though. He tries to hit a homerun every play when he should just take the ball the other way for a seeing eye single sometimes.

I think we both agree that he's very coachable though given his skillset though. I totally agree on making better decisions after he feels the rush. It's at least he feels it. Poor pocket presence is something that I see with both Geno and Hackenberg.

Rosen checks all the boxes for me: Physical tools; intelligence; self-confidence bordering on cockiness - Namath-like; pro-type offense; and finally, his stats/performances aren't blurred by the talent around him. I like him a LOT more than Darnold and the others right now, and I don't expect that to change over the season, but you never know.

If Rosen continues to make these dumb decisions I'll be more hesitant regarding picking him. He can be really good but a lot of that depends on if he fixes himself in pressure situations. I know he wants to win, he wants to be the one to bring his team back and win but you can't do that throwing up ducks for easy picks. I want to see him get a bit better in that department as the CFB season goes on. If he does then I would have 0 issue spending a 1st round pick on him.

I agree. If he doesn't learn from these mistakes I'll be concerned, but I believe he will. He seems like a smart kid.

My biggest concern is that he's going to be the consensus #1 pick and the Jets won't have that pick.

With how bad we're playing I think we may very well have it. I'm concerned we'll beat out the browns and jags who will both be in the running. I don't think for a second that the browns wouldn't draft rosen just because they picked Kizer. Jags know Bortles isn't the answer.
