If we get the 1st pick in the draft we will get a good selection of coaches to pick from. Which could include John Harbaugh and John Gruden.

I personally, like to time my disillusionment with the Jets season to kick in at the same time as my seasonal depression.

Jets need someone strong who is going to make the team nasty and take shit from no one. Not coming from a defensive philosophy either.

it is so hard to judge - if someone is an OC with a good QB then they look good, if someone is an OC with a bad QB they will look bad even though they may be the better coach/playcaller.

    Jesus.
Say we go for it, 4&8, it's likely we don't convert that anyway.

Then we have everyone bitching that Bowles decided to go for it there.

Typical Jet fan stuff... Everyone always thinks the grass is greener on the other side. Yet, it never works.

Is Bowles the answer? Fuck if I know, I'm just tired of the same song and dance with this team.

    It's fucking exhausting.

Some of you live in fantasy land. I'm not saying bowels is a great coach by any stretch, but what makes you think anyone other than a young upstart coordinator is gonna take this job? Especially if we purposely tank and then fire the coach? Nobody thats who, Bowels isn't going anywhere next season

Normally talking about firing a coach in week one is ridiculous...in this case it's appropriate..we are going nowhere and we need a new coach to groom our 1st round QB pick...not to mention Bowles is Kotite bad it's not even a debate anymore.

  9. Mark Dantoni has some fascinating offensive philosophies that supersede basketball aesthetics.. Im not beyond gettting cuckoo to see this team score some actual points

I thought the thread read intelligent coaching choices for 2018 then I read your post...at what point do we stop talking about guys who have been retired for 15 years?

I only want Gruden if he is HC and makes all personnel decisions. No more of this GM and HC on equal ground garbage.
I'd settle for giving the power to Mac to hire his own HC and be an authority figure to the HC.

Lol you clearly don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. Gruden's record is barely above .500 and Macs drafting ability is suspect at best....crunch

Did any of you have any doubt that he would punt in that situation ? Let me preface this by saying even the announcer was saying on the previous down that THE JETS ARE IN 4 DOWN TERRITORY,,,,I almost laughed out loud ! This baffoon of a coach is clueless, will never learn from mistakes and he will NEVER put his players in a position to succeed because he is incapable and worse incompetent !!!!

Dude he's in year 3 still making the same mistakes. And what I find most maddening is his sideline demeanor. The guy is terrible. He's a defensive coach, had defense drafted first in all his drafts to date and still hasn't managed to build a d that doesn't get burned by the run. The long ball. The short routes. It's amazing actually.

If the Jets hold the #1 pick we have a chance to land a good coach. #1 pick, close to 80 million in cap space, not a bad Defense to build around. Not saying we can bring Harbaugh from Michigan but maybe Sean Payton can be had thru a draft pick. Don't know.
