Jets better lose them all if the want a crack at the best QB in the next draft. Bills have 2 1s and 2 2s and Browns have 2 1s and 3 2s and guess what both of them will be looking for.
Rosen had a really bad UCLA roster last year, however he needs display the decision making as you mentioned more consistently. He did well his freshman yr. He specifically needs a good outing this year or he's out of the first round. It's always about what skills translate to the next level. Can you fix or hide defienences of the young qb?
Darnold looked awful..the kid from Wyoming looked even worse..not sure if he's a big prospect but the Oklahoma QB looked awesome...looking forward to watching Rosen tonight.
We're not going to see anything impressive out of Rosen this year; he's yet to show anything impressive in his time at UCLA at all and is simply coasting on his hype as a high school QB. That being said it's not entirely his fault as Jim Mora is absolutely garbage as a HC and road the coat tails of Brett Hundley for three years, but has been exposed since. One more reason Mac is a horrible GM, taking Petty over Hundley, who single handedly elevated UCLA who was garbage before he got there and garbage afterwards.
I read an article on him before last nights game. They said that he spends time with all three position groups, including the defensive line, because he is just that versatile. He reminds me a bit of the late Sean Taylor (RIP) although possibly a bit better going back in coverage and not quite as dynamic of a hitter. But still. He's going to be amazing.
I like Baker Maysfield a lot despite the stupid arrest and cockiness. His arm might be a question mark. Not so much getting the ball down the field, but throwing the ball hard enough to fit it into some tight windows outside the number. Kids definitely accurate as hell and a gamer though. I'd imagine he'll be a Heisman finalist.
Watching him tonight, for the first time, and not impressed. Just got hammered in the pocket and coughed up the ball. A&M taking it to UCLA @LA
Hahah, just happened to see it while watching the Yankee game. I'm not gonna go out of my way for that. Not anymore anyway
List of Round 1 QBs since Andrew Luck: Mitch Trubisky Deshaun Watson Patrick Mahomes Jared Goff Paxton Lynch Carson Wentz Marcus Mariota Jameis Winston Teddy Bridgewater Jonny Manziel Blake Bortles EJ Manuel Brandon Weedon Ryan Tannehill RG3 Not a good track record. Out of the ones where the jury is out, only Winston, Bridgewater, and maybe Tannehill stand out but there are still even questions with those QBs. Round 1 QBs are not worth the picks. The position is such a crapshoot with many stars coming from the 3rd or even 4th rounds.
Jury's out on Wentz, Goff, and Mariota tho, and others. Really have to watch the current prospects the whole way thru the process and then evaluate the kind of prospects they really are.
We'll be doing this all fall. This week Rosen looked good, next week its Darnold. The question is one of consistency. Don't think any of these guys are bulletproof like Luck or even Winston.
